  • How to remove the BF3 beta from Origin

If, like me, you are bugged by seeing the BF3 Beta sitting in Origin; here's there cure:

    Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin
    Open (in Wordpad) InstalledGames.xml

Find and edit the 'hidden=x' value, to a 1 (only for gameID 71171).

    Ie; <Game gameID="71171" lastPlayed="1317589245" hidden="1" favorite="0"/>

    Save, restart Origin, profit.

The only other option to remove it, is to contact Origin Customer Support.

        Yeah. Fuck that.

That fricking bugged the crap outta me too.

Nice find. How stupid are they not to let you delete the beta for crying out loud.

Edit - Found the file but there is only one game in the list (BF3:LE) - Bugger it anyway.

That's wierd. I think Aegis has the same thing with his xml file.

I've got about four items in mine.

I don't have it in my xml file, I assume this is because I deleted the beta from my machine. So it's not an "installed game"

That shouldn't be it Harb, as I deleted my beta client as well.

Hrm. Ok, so that fix isn't a one size fits all deal.

BTW if you are missing the BF3 beta line that says <Game gameID="71171" ect...
Just add it in below the line for BF3 if been told a few people that will work.

nice that worked. I figured out the reason it wasn't in my installedgames list is because it was never installed. I reformatted for new pc.
