We've been talking about Twisted Metal rumours here for a while. Jaffe would drop the odd hint, then drop another to nullify it. It was all very confusing, but the cat is finally out of the bag! Twisted Metal for the PlayStation 3 lands in 2011 with choppers, bikes and 16-player online....

Nintendo are making the most of the E3 2010 expo in LA, revealing everything but Miamoto's kitchen sink - which is probably quite extravagant. The upcoming 3D handheld, the 3DS, sports a 3.5 inch widescreen DS Lite-sized touch screen, four buttons, a D-Pad, a motion sensor, a gyro sensor and a real analogue stick....

E3 is such a wonderful time for gamers. It's just a constant shower of announcements, screenshots and trailers. Some of them known about, some rumored, and then there are some which seem to catch us completely by surprise. Like this announcement and trailer for the re-imagining of racing classic Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit...

When you're developing a game for 5+ years, you really do need to keep the bread crumb trail going - because interest and enthusiasm can wander, even with a killer IP such as Gran Turismo. Thankfully, the guys over at Polyphony do a pretty damn good job of this. But no, we still don't have a release date...

Driver was all kinds of excellent. Unfortunately, it was all down-hill after that. It appears as though Ubisoft are keen to recapture what was once great, showing off a new live-action teaser trailer showcasing the "garage stunts checklist" that was required by players to complete back when the series began. Ahh, nostalgia! Let's hope they get it right....

Test Drive Unlimited had the potential to be great. Unfortunately it fell short, so Atari is giving it another crack with Test Drive Unlimited 2. If you're excited about that, you may also be excited to learn that you can now register for the game's beta program. You will need an Atari account to sign-up, but if you already have a Champions Online or Star Trek Online account you can use that.

Picture Little Big Planet meets Mario Kart, and you have ModNation Racers. It seems to have slipped under the radar for many, but with its release just 8 days away, press is ramping up. Many mainstream gaming press sites now have previews up, and if you watched the last episode of ABC's Good Game you would have seen it there too. If it looks like your kind of thing, you can pre-order it from Game for $89 delivered....

Formula1 has been posting on the forums a lot about, well, Formula 1. Codemasters F1 2010 has just been featured in a number of magazines, and an official press release has been made about when we can get our hands on it - which is September this year. Official Xbox Magazine have featured it which can be seen here, revealing a number of exclusive screens and information......

A few days ago we talked about community suspicion that David Jaffe's next game may indeed be the rebirth of Twisted Metal. With some newly dropped hints, it seems there's even more of a reason to believe it's on the way......

I'm all for increased entertainment immersion, and I have a particular interest in getting accurate drives, rides or flights out of their respective games. MotoGP lead designer Greg Bryant seems to agree, and has spoken to CVG about the title's future plans. "We haven't looked into Natal yet for MotoGP 09/10, but we're definitely going to be looking into it for MGP 10/11 because I personally think the future for that application is through head tracking in racing games"......

And the critics say that developers are running out of ideas. From Trials HD developer RedLynx, Ovi Maps Racing is mobile gaming ingenuity at its niftiest. And strangely, but awesomely, it's free for its Symbian users (such as the N97). The premise is that Ovi grabs GPS and satellite map data, and lets the user choose a racing circuit based on this. Over the past month, Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have been running Gran Turismo 5 demo qualifications that could send the fastest drivers to their 2010 GT AcademyFormula1, is now in a good position to potentially follow in those footsteps. Placing third in the country for the 'tuned car' option, and 14th in the 'normal car', he has put himself in 8th place overall, amidst tens of thousands, and will be competing against 19 others in Melbourne this February......

Forum member Ronan has made us aware of the cruel and unfortunate news. This is hardly surprising, but Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed once more. Fans were excited to hear of it's Japanese March release, however now that has been shifted to the indeterminate "TBA". There's no word on whether this delay will effect the "Summer 2010" release for a Western release, but I think most of you would agree that it's safe to assume that yes, it will....

3D is all the rage right now. Our very own forum member, Paladin, is particularly head-over-heels for it. For those of you who haven't heard, at some point this year the Playstation 3 will receive a firmware update enabling 3D content, and it's being shown off at this year's CES (Consumer Technology Show).....
