Post 3

What exactly does steam have to update on itself that is so big? Or is updating CS part of updating steam?

Post 4

What is Steam?

It's a distributing application, it will be used to distribute new games (to those who pay for a subscription) and will be the main way to download game updates

Post 6

Thats only for valve games isn't it?

If it isn't then thats just f&$ked.

Post 7

Fingers crossed this will bring the end to CS. that and CS for LANs.

Post 8

Why would you want that?

If people enjoy playing it let them. It runs on low end Pc's and a lot of kids have only low-mid range PC's.

Post 9

the problem is... it doesn't run on any PC's atm, let alone low end ones. the whole system is screwed to buggery.

usually i would download the updated patch, patch the game, restart. baddabing baddaboom it works.

this takes:

1. Forever to get the files needed.
B. When it does have the files... it needs to get more.
III. When those files are done and you are ready to play the damn game.. it doesn't let you.

plus, on top of these things - Steam crashes every few mins...

*sigh*

Mines been running about same time as Seqos, I left it going all night, It did only about 100 mb =|

Download the steam and 1.6 complete pack just shy of 400mb like I did turn it on and play ..

Post 18

Im doing that now, its still gonna take ages (for me anyway, im a bandwidth snob :P). Downloading at 110k/s is still gonna take over an hour, sif not being able to get 600k/s

Guess its a good time to go watch the rest of DS9 season 2 :)
