i was just about to post "AMX/Adminmod for steam/1.6" then i realised how stupid it was because i have actually played on a 1.6 wc3 server, and the wc3 thingy is aplugin for amx, so up until now this has been a pointless post. anyways, it reminded me of sumthing else.

Will the stats/can the stats come back up once OD gets all of GU up to date again. does 1.6 and steam support HL stats??

my fps is really bad on 1.6

im not sure if there are some settings i can change

i have radeon 9700 pro. used to running 1152 832 size and i set it on high quality 32 bits. and my fps was crap, so i changed size to 1024 and medium quality 24 bits or wateva and it makes little diff

Post 8

lower fps as in unplayable, or lower as in 40 as oposed to 60? do u run it in d3d or gl? i run mine in gl, cause smoke nades make me chug when i run it on d3d.

Post 9

Yeah I too got a fps hit.

Went from a constant 100fps to a very fluctuating fps. Ranging from about 60 to 100. Not sure what caused it and still havent found a fix for it.

Post 10

Thats wierd.
I got a Radeon 9700 and 784 MB DDR Ram and i got crap fps in 1.5 with 1.6 I get very good fps with everything turned on.

Looks like 1.6 is going my way

Post 11

Me have no probs at all with either .... constant 100fps in both version @ 1280 x 960 with everything on. Sure it drops when there is heaps of action on the screen .... bet never below 60-70fps. Card is a Ti 4800 SE 128Mb with 512Mb DDR RAM.

Cheers

Post 12

i dont see y people bitch about it to much anyway, anything over 40 is easy playable, and the human eye cant tell the difference between 60 and 100.

Post 13

The human eye can't detect anything over 75 frames per second, I guess computers can though. I'm not sure about anything over 40, but definitely anything over 60!!

Post 14

Yeah i dont see the point on whinging

Post 15

well sure it doesnt make any diff between a constant 65 fps and a constant 100fps.

BUT when ur getting 100fps then 1 second later 15fps, then 30, then 60, then 12, then 98, then 5 mins of 90's fps then back to 15fps etc.

its damn hard to play.

this is what happens when i play 1.6

Post 16

Do you have the latest Catalyst Drivers ?
That happened to me in fy_stoneworld in CS 1.5!
CS 1.6 is no lag at all for me

Post 17

ill give u that, it would be a bitch to play like that, i havent actually cheked my fps in 1.6, but i dont notice any difference
