Steam auto updated itself, then I tried joining a server and got this error - Invalid STEAM User ID Ticket
Update with Official fix: Quote:
If you continue to receive this error message, the issue can most likely be resolved by restarting the Steam client.
If restarting Steam does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete the following files from your Steam directory:
- Steam.dll
- SteamUI.dll
- Rename the ClientRegistry.blob
The files should be found at C:\Program Files\Steam\ (the location on your machine will vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).
Behold the great Wrath hax fixed yet another problem! :P
After updating steam which is auto. You connect to a server and you get the initially mentioned error. To fix it try the following
1. Logout of Steam. 2. Login. 3. Steam will probably give the error that either ur connection is down or steam is down (You know the error don't you ?) 4. Press Cacel at the login screen. 5. Load Steam again. 6. Login. Wallah it works  Tell me it worked telllll meeeee
Finnaly got some feedback. Happy to know that it worked for someone
Unsees has explained how to log out in his last post.
Here it is again:-
This is just if you get the invalid ticket error.
1. Run Steam. 2. Logout 3. Login. 4. If you get the error that your internet connection aint workin or Steam is down then. 5. Go to Steam folder>config and delete this file after backing it up "SteamAppData.vdf". 6. Login Again
If you just get that iternet connection or steam is down then just. Go to Steam folder>config and delete this file after backing it up "SteamAppData.vdf".
Note: Deleting SteamAppData.vdf will be automatically created once you run Steam.
:-( I have the same problem. I keep getting "Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket(server was unable to contact the authentication server)" Ever since the update, I keep getting this error. I searched my error on google, and I asked around Steam forums... Nothing worked... I've tried everything people told me to do in steam forums and the support section on Steam's website. Do any of you know anything, how I can resolve my problem?
