Found an article in today's Herald Sun about bookies in the UK putting odd's on actors likely to be the next Doctor Who. Their favorite at 8-1 is Alan Davies (from Jonathan Creek), second is Richard E. Grant, and third is Sean Pertwee (son of Jon Pertwee who played Doctor Who in the 70's. Also they have Lenny Henry at 33-1 to become the first black Dr Who.
Personally I think Alan Davies has to be the next one, he has the hair and is great in Jonathan Creek
uh.... what? How can there be another Dr Who..?
I thought he had reached his final regeneration in the last movie...?

Well the BBC has confirmed that they have commissioned 6 episodes to air in 2005.
Also there is supposed to be an animated series starring Richard E. Grant to celebrate the 40th Anniversary
He got to regeneration number 8 in the gawdawful piece of stinking shite that was the movie.
Time Lords get 12 regenerations: he has 4 to go.
Of course in the last regeneration there's always a chance that a re-infection with their "immortality virus" may take hold. Mind you only 5% get a regeneration cycle, and since each regeneration radically changes the Time Lord's DNA, they get put back to 1/20 odds when they try again.
Meanwhile, the same virus has a 20% mortality rate. So it's a big gamble.
The Master actually succeeded in getting a second round of regenerations; he's up to 14 I think.

yeh, I've been watching the majority of the old Dr Who thats back on ABC... OUR ABC... and Jonathan Creek was ones of my fav shows, Alan Davier would play it well, but i think i may still be see him as i watch Dr Who in the role in Jonathan Creek.
The BBC is reporting that Former Doctor Who Tom Baker says that Eddie Izzard is to be the next doctor for the TV show that starts 2005.
