that score's got to break some kind of record too, never seen a team get over 700 before, not even australia vs. bangladesh :D Probably also a record for most runs for the amount of time they played... 700+ in 1 and a half days :o
But take out haydens and gilchrist's score and australia look pretty average... the two of them make up like 75% of the whole teams score

The team score is the 6th highest of all time. The highest innings is 6-952 by Sri Lanka vs India at Colombo in 1997. Australias highest innings score is 8-758 Vs West Indies in Kingston during 1954/55.
Also the session between lunch and tea on the 2nd day was the first time in history that 2 players have each made more than 100 runs in a session. Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist were truly legendary the way they played yesterday. And with the exeption of Don Bradman, to which there are no equals, Matthew Haydens innings was the most dominant display i have ever seen. Its the sort of batting those 2 displayed is why Australia is the best team in the world, not only do they make huge scores, but they make them extreemely fast.

Lived in Freo. Freo is best.
Hate the dockers though, just liked living there. Cafe strip, beaches, pubs, women, perfect weather. Freo rocks. One of only 3 places I will live in aust.
