Yeah I'll agree with Kurt - for me in Nightcliff I only heard a couple cracks of thunder under headphones. Nothing to really get worked over. Im sure the lightening was great though :)

Until I can hear the wind under headphones I won't call anything a storm 8)

ok jono and Unseen i know this is hard but too see a Electrical storm you actually have to go outside!... *insert old horror movie music here*

there was hardly any rain and wind. hence why its called an electrical storm

Haven't been any storms at palmo yet.. pretty annoying.. ffs. But lately I've seen late afternoon storms out Howard Springs and towards the sea.. big rolling clouds and you can see the lightning buzzing around... grr.. but it won't come any closer.. yet..

Post 14

You guys in NT get all the fun :(

Post 15

man...u guys should have ups's

But yeah, power pole outside my place took a beating from a stick of lightining.... i pulled my phone line out moments before the strike...was this time last year when laptop took a shock through the modem.

But yeah, not too much fork lighting and hence a pretty quite storm, but golly, the sheet lightining was pretty impressive, only those outside would have seen it :)

Post 16

oh, and once i got some filters to protect my lense, I'll be out havin a shot at capturing some of that lightining

went to school the next day and everyone was raving about 'that big bang'

lol damn should come up here hey, they seriously are incredible. On the next one i'll take a drive to the beach and get some video/pictures of the storm for yous.

The last storm i remember was when a lightning bolt hit the top of a palm tree. Blew the thing to shreds. The coconuts flew off and were all burt and the actual tree caught fire, we were in a fully open house about 10-20m, away - the real scary thing was that we saw this HUGE blue bolt, but no thunder and we were like wtf, BANG! power cut out a few times and no shit the ground rumbled. The lightning was real nice, if you went and stood on the road all you can feel is the heat generated from it.

Pretty insane. Yeah in Darwin btw.

heh, remember when my relatives came up from melbourne one time (never been this far north before) and it was when Cyclone Thelma was around... they were shitting themselves before the thing had even become a cyclone warning :)
