heres the story..... i just got a new mother board and its got onboard SATA so yeah i went out an got myself this wikid huge 160gb SATA hard drive and havent yet been able to use the dam thing... ive plugged it all in as it says to but upon booting up it says theres no system and asks for a system disk i also have a 120gb IDE hard drive which is also plugged in and it has the system on it.. in bios i have set the boot drive to the 120gb IDE... can somone just give me plain english instuctions on how to get the dam thing working.... the mother board is an ASUS A7N8X delux and the hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160Gb (7200RPM/SATA150/8MB) i have all nessasary adapters and stuff..

In the wrong forum.
To get the comp to even see the SATA drive u may have to install the SATA drivers. But i don't know why that would affect the computer not seeing the system on the IDE drive. Re-check through the bios and make sure everything is set to boot from the IDE drive. Did you plug the power into the 120gb? Re-check the cables you may have pulled one out or something.

check your options in the bios re the sata drive configuration, ie whether it is in raid mode or base mode etc
Also, some motherboards wont detect drives larger than 137 gig, and you may need to do a few tricks to get windows to see a partition greater than this size also
