Ok I want a one stop Dvix to DVD Movie burning program.
If theres not a one stop how about a guide to it and the 2 or more programs to use.
You see I have lots of video files (lets say they are Home movies with a suround sound dub) that are Dvix that I want to remove from my HDD and burn to a DVD that I can watch in my DVD player with a surround sound setup.
Any help would be great, the Nero I have (Nero 6) doesn't do this (even with avi or mpg).
also looking into this sort of thing.. anyone know why 4 x 400mb mpg files will burn into a DVD format (equaling 4.3gb on the DVD), but a single 700mb .avi file wont fit (reads as over 8 gb)

because .avi files are hardcore compressed and blow out hence why dvd players will decompress and play mpg but not avi
need better software to contain compression, but doing that will mean the average 99 dollar dvd player wont play it due to compression.
To play a divx on a dvd i am pretty sure you need to convert it to either vcd, svcd or back to mp4. I don't know of any DVD players that will play divx. I have read though about a dedicated divx decoder but i think it is cheaper to buy a shuttle and sit it next to your tv :)
I've heard of a format called KVCD it allows u to fit a whole movie on a stardard CD and works on 50% of DVD players in VCD format but with variable bitrates like Div-X.
Some tools are available but since my own PC is out of action I haven't tested it. ON current PC User disc and mag.
Simple guys..Well the only simple choice is whats your preference....The latest Nero with all plugins ( ALL. ie retail ) that includes Nero Recode 2.... 2hrs 20 minutes to go from .avi to DVD. You can add chapters and everything. that is my personal choice at the moment. Every thing else takes twice the time. Next best is most likely Cucusofts avi to mpeg/dvd/svcd etc, however only the pro works well and is a bit dodgey. Then their is the old tried and proven TEMPENG/VIRTUALDUB/IFOEDIT mix...Once again a degree in editing is required and will take you close to double figures in the time side of things...See me at DGA for a demo if you wish, by the way with Nero Recode 2 you can do a swag of other things..........when you have made your dvd you can directly copy it in well under the time if you get my drift....

Neuston. They used to have a DVD player as well but now its EOL. (Still avail in Au from Tesora.com.au though) Nice to have one of those virtuoso units with CF wifi connected to your home PC.
