Post 4

i wanted to watch the sunrise on my 21st last year... but it was overcast.... pfft! so i took a picture of it dark... then light....

Post 5

Lee Point beach (for those of you in Darwin) is an awesome place to watch the sunrise, if you can be bothered making the drive.

Post 6

About a month ago a few friends and I ended up there after a night after party, one of them had a digital camera and took a heap of pictures.

Later in the morning we sat down and started messing around in photoshop, it's pretty dodgey and far from finished (the photo doesn't do the morning justice, esspecially in this quality), but this is the state it got to before we got bored of the computer...

Post 7

nice work on the pic jamie :)

Post 8

that looks really good do u have anymore

Post 9

Unfortunately not, Fremen. I've got dozens of pictures of me and my mates all f*cked up though. ;)

Love the sig, by the way, heh.

Post 10

thanks rec

that a shame because that one is a nice photo

Post 11

you could prolly sell that to someone if you got rid of the weird colourlines in it.... its a very very good picture!

Post 12

Wierd colours? ........

Post 13

She's right... because it's composed using almost a dozen shots, there are colour variations where there shouldn't be. Hue, saturation and tone differences where there shouldn't be. That'll all be fixed up if he or I can ever be bothered doing it, though.

Post 14

Post 28

its....its like it was painted!!!! *oohs and aahs*

but what is the point of taking a photo if you'll just change it to make it look not like a photo.... tho they are both real funky looking pics.

Post 36

gooooood luck rec, those kind of shots are freakin hard to get.

Post 37

Hard to get if you have no imagination. ;)

Post 38

There is a difference between Imagination and photographic talent.:)

Post 39

If you don't have an imagination you can't create ideas for elaborate shots. People without imagination stick to photographing scenery, sun sets, lightning strikes etc. ;)

Post 40

to get shots like that lighting has to be perfect, tones and shades have to be perfect, you have to have the right kind of filter and film and sometimes a stage....

and oi! whats wrong with nature? they are the best kind of shots to take. the only kind of subject that you cant do anything to change to get it just so.

Post 41

Meh, I'm not a big fan of scenery shots myself, but each to their own.

And by the way - those shots... the lighting, tones and shades can be absolutely terrible, it doesn't make squat all difference if you know what you want from the setting. Sure setting up your camera to make the best of what you're given is a start, but digital editing (colour correction mostly) is common practice in photography, Photoshop is your friend.

Post 42

Sun rises at Fraser island are pretty decent too. This was one morning at Nagala Rocks on the north end of the island. Sorta shows how special the place is...
