GU has a server!

Yes, thats right folks, GU now has a game server:

hostname: OzForces.Com|GamersUnderground
tcp/ip : 203.17.15.206:27025

CS 1.6 - all the old admins have access to it, so any requests can go to them

Check the Servers button at the top of the page for live info.

This is just a warmup to GU Mark 2, due in the coming weeks.... Stay glued to the forums for more info...

Maybe post below are arrange a time to relive the old days...

Thanks to OD for getting the server up, i guess this is the first step you guys will see in the new big overhaul of GU.

If u don't want to be THAT extreme, tell us what exactly is wrong, or even google it. If worse comes to worse, do a clean reinstall of cs

whoops forgot to tell you the problem umm lets see
when i log in it sez im not connected or anything but i am :| duno whats happeneing umm and also i dunno how to reformat hehe my brother probably can do that, oh and umm cow i did a reinstall it happened again

Yeah my Steam was gheying up so I uninstalled that and Counter-Strike. I'm doing a clean install of it all again now, hopefully it'll work :)

Look forward to seeing you all again. Well, the ones I saw anyway. I also look forward to playing with those I didn't see.

Yeah... we are so excited about a server he is suggesting we dont have lives, thus weekdays are the same as weekends and something along those lines and it's so good the server is in Sydney cos that's better for me cos that's better ping for me and who needs full stops anyway, periods are for girls :\

Did you try to right click on the steam steam in the system tray, click "Exit and Logoff" and then open it again?

BTW, do OzForces admins have admin access on the GU server?

No, GU servers are always run by GU.

Does it require Cheating-Death?

no way, we need all our haxoring skillz to win

cheating death doesn't work anymore...? VAC is useful but as we find on ozforces servers that it cannot protect servers adequately. damn about the admin thing remy, but it's still good to see GU servers back up and running.

EDIT: i've checked the forums and the supporters do nothing at all, they no reply and stuff its so annoying >< i can't play i want money back :cry:

I get an error trying to connect (only to GU) which is just 'cannot verify server indentification'. I'll try again tomorrow or something.

Also Lemon, use ALT+PRTSCN and it saves only the active window :)

i was playing tonight doing awsoem i though casue when i play on teh DU servers i get flogged and i was getitng kills tonight
yeha some was stolen but who cares i got them

people were getting lag
i wasnt but im on dialup
so yeah great server hope to see more people on it each night

i might just have to install steam again so i can be ownzored by you guys.

unless we get the wc3 plugin again, then the fun starts and the owning gets all upended

That was cool but only 14 people can play :( ill play from time to time im still hooked on WC3 mod :D

Check your Steam settings for connection speed - I had an issue where it kept going back to 28k modem - this stopped me connecting to anything via Steam - just a thought ....

I fixed my problem

"Error! Server verification failed."

I was trying to connect from my desktop, using Steam in the Server window (that's usual.) I kept at it, but then decided to do it from in game, since when it failed it took me into CS anyway where'd I just quit from back to my desktop and do it again. Anyhow, I tried it from the Server window in game, and it suddenly starts downloading the Security Module. Well, sif steam isn't queer.

I too was playing last night. I think there was a bit of lag, but meh. No big deal. Sometimes I'd jump around a corner and be mauled before I saw anything.

Great to see GU with a server again !!

Played on the server briefly last night.
So far it seems to run very smooth. Not too many hickups, apart from the occasional spike, but i think i was the only one experiencing that.

no longer do i have 300ms+ and 250 odd ping, but i have a 40 ping to the servers!!!! at the ms (whatever it is) is only 15 or so
