Wasted $40 seeing it tonight. The only movie I have ever seen that was so depressing I could have walked out of the cinema (perhaps that's credit to me that I normally don't choose such terrible movies).
Obvious, obvious, obvious. I had the entire plot picked, from start to finish within 25 minutes of it, and ended up playing with functions on my phone. Lame acting, flawed concepts, over-done cliche story line, Ben Affleck... the list goes on. This movie is truely terrible.
Point of note: I rang family members at 11:30pm tonight to make sure they didn't pay to see this movie.
While talking about the universe of Ben Affleck, I'd like to point out that his last three movies (Dare Devil, Pay Cheque and Jersey Girl) have all been ripped to shred by the critics... one is to wonder when exactly he'll get a more expensive manager to start scouting for movies worth starring in.
Jersey Girl was infact so bad, the cast took a solid stance that the movie was NOT in fact intended to be watched by critics (keeping in mind the definition of a critic is basically anyone with an opinion who shares it)...
PAY CHEQUE IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY, MORE IMPORTANTLY IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR TIME - YOU WILL NOT ONLY WISH YOU STAYED AT HOME, YOU'LL GET HOME AND HAVE TO WRITE THINGS LIKE THIS TO CALM THE ANGER.
Quote from Seqo: You know what, I reckon it was John Woo that ruined Paycheck. Like he's done so many movies before (anyone remember Windtalkers... *shudders*)
Lets all slow down just a little here. I thought the movie was good.
The only issue i had with it was that "The legend 8) " John Woo was not IMHO an impact on the movie. I know John Woo as i have been watching his movies for 10years + and i saw VERY little of his influence in that movie. If Holloywood dosent allow him to take the reigns of the movies they get him to direct then there is no point in having such an awsome visionary on the project.
BTW Resident Evil was also a good movie. In fact it is the best video game to movie adaption done. It so captured the feel of the game.

I can't stand John Woo's style and the over-the-top atmosphere he creates. It irritates me to no end.
But I will go see Pay Check (when it comes to DVD) with an open mind.

Well you will be pleased to watch Paycheck then as it has none of the over the top action squences you dislike about John Woo.
Plus to boot it is a good movie and the numbers it scored at the cinemas seem to agree with this.
As for Mario Bros been a good movie i disagree with you there. It was a pretty dodgy movie. :?
But i will agree with you on the 1st Mortal combat movie. It was a very good movie, equal to Resident evil. ( i had forgotten about the 1st mortal kombat when i made my statement.)
Quote from Cr@zY L|aMa: i want to know why it costed you 40$
It depends where he lives. If he resides in the big smoke. IE; Sydney or Melbourne. (maybe brisbane and perth have them as well) but i dont know for sure.
Anyways some the major cinema complexes have a gold screening option. Tickets cost alot more than normal.
BUT the cinema holds about 50 people and you get like super comfy lounge like chairs to sit in. Plus you can pay extra $ to buy hot food and some dude or dudette will bring it over to you.
