yep you sure do

"W32.HLLW.Syney@mm is a mass-mailing worm that deletes Windows system files and spreads through Microsoft Outlook"

maybe anyways, worth a look at it.

Turn your messenger service off.

Post 9

bahahahahahhahahahahahahah you got SCAMMED!

Post 10

Looks more like spyware than a virus

Post 11

here, since no-one has been nice yet....

right click my computer, go to manage

click services and applications, then double click the services icon on the right..

look for the messenger service, and stop it.

No more annoying popups, which are all lying to you..

btw, RUN A FIREWALL!!! THEY WOULDNT HAVE YOUR IP OTHERWISE!!

also, stop using Internet explorer, and start using firefox/mozilla/opera/safari/whatever other browser tickles your fancy, IE has many many security holes that allow people to do nasty things...

Post 12

are they watching us?

Post 13

--[incoming message from people accessing peoples computers and watching you]--
yes...

Post 14

ok, well im already using Opera so that solves that. And i think it's just Messenger Plus 3! so maybe i try uninstalling that :P what's the best / easiest firewall to run?

Post 15

Easiest would be zonealarm in my opinion. As for the best, wait for about 50 different responses, but I'd say go with zonealarm, always done good by me

Post 16

if you are exceptionally lazy, you can run the windows firewall(better then nothing) other then that, run ZA its good and free

Post 17

ummm try double clickin on the boarders of the task manager???

it hides and unhides the menus and tabs.

Post 18

i don't nderstand how that'd help me sneak.. ^o) where in Tiwi are u?

Post 19

ROFL SNEAK!!! OMG... I reformatted and ALL I had to do was... Double click.. rofl ... haha thats funny :P

Post 20

lol, yeah i started kicking myself when i figgured it out as well.

i had been either putting up with it or reformating for 24 months or so before i realised that all i had to do was double click!!!

Post 21

lol me too, though I should do the reformat to get my c drive back to c instead of d

Post 22

nup, it's still fwarked - and i'm still getting those messages..i re-run Norton all the time and still no avail.

Post 23

I used to get them, reformatted, now i dont :)

Post 24

shehe...i had a problem where my startbar just disappeared...as well as the icons on my desktop...the only way i could think of to fix it was to format!

Post 25

Get rid of Nortons. Run free AVG and free zone alarm. If paranoid like me run xp firewall as well.

Hope it helps.

Post 26

xp firewall? what's wrong with Norton! :(

Post 27

resource hog for starters. i dont like zone alarm either. goddamn intrusive shit. separate box who's only purpose is that of a firewall is what i use.

Post 28

I like zone alarm, what you call intrusive, I call thorough (im presuming you mean it has a cry about anything accessing the net until you tell ZA to let it). And go with AVG, avoid Norton like the plague, especially on gaming systems, (stupid resource hog)

Post 29

so Zone Alarm for virus scan - and AVG for firewall? These are ok on an average gaming / internet machine? Reckon download.com will do these?

Post 30

Except other way around - zone alarm is a firewall and avg is the virus scanner just google them.
