Theme Hospital = DOS Game = Wont play on WinXP or a fast computer. I built a DOS box (cost me "0....$40 if you count the USB card so I could use my keyboard/mouse) and that plays all my old DOS games perfectly.
Specs Are:
Pentium Pro 200Mhz
S3 Virge 2Mb + Voodoo 2 8Mb
32Mb EDO RAM
10/100 Network Card
USB 2.0
2Gig HDD
48x CD Drive

I've played theme hospital on a windows comp.. I think it was 95 form memory. Loaded it from the dos thing you get into from windows, dos-promt or something? Long time ago...

This site is WELL handy for looking up fixes for this sort of thing - http://www.ntcompatible.com/

Heres Theme Hospital - http://www.ntcompatible.com/cdetail10775.html - looks like some people can get it working, and some people can't. There are some links there to some forum threads relating to getting it working. Recommend you take a look.

all i can say is...

dosbox

I tried dosbox myself and its not real good.....I got more than 1 dos game I want to play so I can justify $50. I have found with modern computers they are just too damn fast.

Dos programs dont scale properly, when they were made, modern day speeds were thought IMPOSSIBLE, so when you stick it on a modern computer, the poor program doesn't know how to deal with it.

GTA the original is a case in point....start that, crank up the graphics to max, turn on the frame rate limiter and try and do something....ur dude moves about 50 times faster then he should, and when you try and turn you do about 5000 turns a second. Warcraft is another one....with the slowest scroll speed on the largest map, you cant scroll to a middle area, it just goes edge to edge.

ive got good experience with dosbox

ultima underworld 1 and 2 and ultima 7 run very well with it

haven't tried any other games but i tweaked dosbox to make them run nice nice

i will admit that its not very user friendly but if you know your stuff, it should work

Wrong. A friend got an image of theme hospital and installed on his 3gig P4 completely fine, WinXP. You can get the shit or updated version.
