Need for Speed Underground 2 demo is now out. It was released yesterday. Here's the site for more information (on what the demo contains, and what the real game contains), and download links to download the game from. It is a massive 350MB download. There is a Game Arena download link (shown on the page, also here) for all you Bigpond customers.

I've got 145mb done. I was waiting up for the rest, looking for stuff to do but now I've been invited into town. So now im sitting back having a couple of beers. It'll be done when I get home :) the demo looks alright! I've been watching the clips, they're mostly of the 350Z or Lancer, but I can't wait!!! I'm going to preorder the game tomorrow.

I wanted to be but when I got back from town it wasn't down. I've just installed now. The graphics (in the setup) looked awesome! More customisation is great too, and is also learning.

i played it along time ago when i got burnout 3 cause in the game it has the demo of it, it's aight but dun like the sterring too much i guesss

Whoa! It's an awesome game. I've already pre-ordered and put my deposit on at EB. Apparently it comes out on the 18th November. I wonder if the demo will do me to then. I also like the outrun challenges. I had a problem with when I had full screen anti aliasing on, the screen was pitch black. So if anyone else has problems with blackness, take full screen anti aliasing off. I am glad they sound a lot more like cars now too. I like being able to free roam and whatnot. I hope you can choose what cars and what parts whenever you want.

its very nice looking. bit too cartoony to be really good tho. and the demo is much too easy..(maybe thats becuase i've been playing gran turismo 3 too much :P)...
it will be heaps of fun tho :D i like the idea of the menu being the streets of the town tho.

Yeah Amph I had the same AA prob, I turned it off in game, and forced it on via my drivers...fixed it no probs. Game is AWESOME....just I dislike that car somewhat....give me the V8 Mustang :D When I started the install and saw the 1960's Mustang there I was like F**K YES!!!
Edit: Just found some higher performance ones....the car now turns, much better :D

Yeah, it is a little bit easy I think. Outrun is fun, but even without knowing your way around the city it's quite easy. I don't see how it's cartoony, I'm guessing the graphics maybe? I like free roaming, but I definitely wanna be able to choose parts any point in the game (eg, I may want to put on 18" rims before ANYTHING else, or just trade my car in for a RX-7).

After more NFS: U2 playing, the physics in the game are alot better. The engines sound awesome, the music in it sounds pretty good, and the cars react realistic. I don't think I can ever play the first one again without thinking "yuck"

realistic? you can smash head on into a wall at over 100mph and reverse away and keep driving.

You can do that in Gran-Turismo as well..but thats a realistic driving sim :P
I'd like the option to have complete car damage on.....but i wouldnt be able to finish a lap without dying :(

Yeah, I'd rather it not have damage really, cos your nice cars would get smashed up quite badly (mine would, and so would Milenko's). I meant steering wise, burnouts, etc.

would be good to have some sorta damage though.......... but the 350z is a piece of shit, if they were only going to give us one car in the demo they shouldve giving us a good car. besides that this game ****in rocks

Yeah, damage would be good if it was just race based. You die in the race, you pay for repairs. But if you make it through the race without dying .. it just auto-repairs free or something.
But meh, its awesome anyhow :D

Damage would be good as optional, but face it, no one likes a game where they cant have the fun they want because they have to restart everytime they make a mistake. Also ultra realistic crashes would render the cars undriveable at any impact over abour 30k/h

Yes it is.....my Hummer is awesome now the damn thing turns, and that 80's Corolla is wicked. This game is everything the first one SHOULD have been. I love playing aroun tweaking the performance up though....got the HP up on my car and dropped its 0 - 60 times by 1/2 a second :D

WoW has consumed most of my time, but I decided to play the game two days ago. Was quite good, haven't really given it the time it probably deserves though. Sound is a shiteload better this time imho.

The original owns!! I love it! I am not going to TAFE tomorrow... the down point is the story line is cartoony ... that sucks. I like the idea of getting NOS for the stuff you do - but it's still not great... I think I like it though.
