Post 5

that dosent look like its in the ground as much as it should be.. it might fall over :p

Post 6

It's strapped down pretty well by the adjoining cables.

Post 7

wait.

do i need on of those to have wireless at my place?

god my neighbours will think im the biggest nerd.

Post 8

To answer a few questions.

The group base plate is to stop it from skidding out. It doesnt take any of the wind loading pressure. As its all downward pressure this is just stopping it from kicking out.

Each section has 3 .. 4mm cables connecting up to points.. in the format of a peace symbol, with the center being the mast.

Selpa .. No you wont need a mast this big. I am using it as I am going to be the relay and in my instace bigger is better :)

Post 9

what does it cost?

Post 10

Too much I'd imagine :p

Post 11

Post 12

Post 15

Is the mast fully extended? Also what is the total length extended? Im about to do Alice

Sponge

Post 16

no it isnt fully extended. The total lenght of the mast is 27meters. (fully extended) It has a 3 meter alluminum pole in th top for the omni directional .. taking it too 29m full height.

Uses 4mm guy wire .. Using LFJ coax cable. (real low loss but real expensive $9-11/m)

Anything else u wanna know call me sponge :) 0400482812 .. we can chat if u want.

Post 17

Nice indeedy. So are you gunna extend the entire mast. I could almost see it from here if you do.

Damn thats a big sucker. I now have secured 2 and a half 18 metre masts so ill be going up real soon.

Will call you soon Unseen

Post 18

yep extending to full height. That way I can cover more and will allow me to get a better signal.

Post 19

wow... nice work dude
would have taken quite a bit of effort i'd imagine, i couldn't have done it :)

Post 20

hey unseen where can you get the coax cables locally? I have the antenna and the card and pigtail but I just need the cabling...

Post 21

MM electical and there is a few cable places around darwin ..

however it u are looking at doing my past use coax, other wise look at POE or something equivelant.
