now that people are generally established on what server they will be playing on, i was wondering what name,race and class everyone are going to choose for their avatar in the game.
Im installing in the game right now and I will be joining Blackrock for PvP fun.
Hopefully I can get the name MaestrO (no 47 as they didn't allow numbers in the game and im betting they didn't allow numbers here either)

Its not dialup, its the server issues they are experiencing (mind you, dialup would only compound hte problem).
Myself and mark took about 15mins to get our char lists.
I have an alt character on Spinebreak (alliance). Only play it if i cant get on blackrock,.
this morning the bug with the character list has been resovled. the NPC's and dying were still a bit stuffed apparently...but hopefully they will be fixed by the time we finish work :)
The lag issues is problems with the database setup, one buged search for something and it holds up every other search, and can even cause the system to get into a loop. its these searches they have to fix, and probably have seen before till all these people showed up.
i'd say that character list thing is the system trying to change stupid named accounts (omgwtfbbq) and all that shit. and getting stuck on the ones that were already online or something.

I think they did it to reduce latency. The login screen would try to retrieve item details from your character, to show a representation of what items ur char has on them. This way, it doesn thave to call that extra data. Just loads a nekkid character, and off u go :D
