Got the game on Monday and found it very resource hungry. Its definately a step or two up from BF9142 (need more maps though) and has many unique features.

I run a P4 2.4GHZ (OC'd to 3.07GHZ), Geforce FX 5700LE and 1GB RAM and its slow..............unless I wind it down to 800 x 600 and use low to medium details settings. Most other game's on my PC (except Doom3 and Farcry) run very well.. Mmmmm time for a new Video Card me thinks.

"Battlefield 2 can look pretty, but just sitting back and setting everything to "high" isn't going to get you the best frame rates, even with the most powerful computer on the block......."

Hardware Requirements (This will rule out a lot of PC's) :

Minimum Specification:
CPU: 1.7 Ghz
RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: NVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 Mb of RAM

Recommended Specification:
CPU: 2.4 Ghz
RAM: 1 Gb
Video Card with at least 256 Mb of RAM

Battlefield 2 Supports only these Video Cards......

Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
ATI Radeon X800 PRO
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 8500 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

It looks and plays great especially when playing as the commander but together with Doom3 and FarCry it is "THE catalyst" for a whole new generation of Gaming hardware...

plays fine on mine

P4 Prescott 3.4
NVidia GeForce 6600GT PCI-e
1gb Corsair Ram

will only let me select 1024 x 768 in the video options.. but there is a way to enable 1280 x 1024 (LCD Native Res) through some options in the shortcut.

Game runs fine.. laggy on linux servers, which is a known problem at the moment.. so i'm only playing on windows servers. (which is good since internode have made all servers windows based for the moment)

Guess u dont read much then ..

All the Linux servers CRASH .. hence people using windows until a fix is released.

wowo

Post 11

that was sarcasm

they dont crash....problems are ---->random disconnects, or server lag

because the linux distro causes it .. SERVER side.

Beyond neotheo talking

Also EA Stats are not recording either atm. been promoted 4 times now to PFC and all my medals :(

hope they fix it soon.

worked fairly well on my 9800pro 128MB with standard everything settings. things like using a sniper scope tended to make it chug though.

Post 14

3200 AMD socket 939
2 gig ram
9800pro 256meg

runs sweet

Post 15

XP2600+ AMD
1.5 gig ram
Gainward 6800Ultra 256mb
1280x960 Everything maxed out to high and 4 AA

Runs sweet, no lag no hickups.

I guess Graphics card has a lot to do with it.

BF9142 is L33T compared to BF2, but still BF2 is very very fun to play Live. I don't know how it runs like on the computer though never got it for that, just Xbox.

Post 23

lol meant 2142 my mind was going fast...

Post 24

BF2142 is BF2 with new weapons and vehicles. It's more like a mod, with extra bugs.
