is there a way after the scheduled back up has completed, to tell nero NOT to eject the media??

I think you could use Nero Drive tool and tell your drive itself not to do that.

In Nero Burning Rom 6.6.06, Under preferences on the 'Expert Features' tab there is a tick box which says "Do not eject the disk after burn is complete". I don't know if it's the same for the Nero package you have.
