i was going to do a post on dga sleeping however i did not know how it will look like..

There were 3 MAIN pictures i want to show people...

The 'hammock' is the best place to sleep at DGA... went to sleep after 2 hours then got up! Its amazing what people actually bring to a LAN..

the other 2 were the best inventions of sleeping i have ever seen in my life!

It was made out of the notice board... the next post will see what happens to the board

Post 6

Yeah I enjoyed my time at the lan.

First up played WarcraftIII.
Played Footman frezy a couple of times Flamm and I were undefeated.
Then we had a game where we needed to build and got flogged by Browine, SperO and Vorly.

I had fun in the Q3 competition. The 2 deathmatches were slighty uneven skilled I think. DragonXR made me work hard to stay at the top. Good to see my old mouse going to a skilled player :). Played off and beat him 11-9 then got killed by Vorly 20-5. Yay I killed Vorly 5 times :D

Sad to see we still having power problems at the Greek School.

Post 7

here is the other pic

I personally have never seen this and think its GOLD

just like the dancing machine which this bloke was jumping up and down to when porn came on the screen :p

Post 8

its unfair to say we had power problems at the greek school when its more accurate to say we had power problems for nightcliff

Post 9

Yeah nightcliff had a power problem.. not greek schools or our fault

Post 10

Yeh kinda sorry about the little anime porn thingy with the dancing game :)

But i hoped people liked that it was there to play with...

Post 11

hahahaha hentaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Post 12

Okay Hawkeye you have my attention. I shall make a full concerted effort to make EVO. Somehow I will get up there. I shall commence organising my excursion.

OD I need a drink with you agaon my friend.

:)

Cheers

i think the best time at dga was the huge quake 3 arena game (not tourny) it had about 15 - 18 ppl in it and it was just an all in brawl, funnest game of Q3A ive had in years, so except for the hour of no power it was an excellent lan

Everyone should thank Chycophy for bringing his computer, PS2 and DDR equipment down to the LAN. Without it, I would have kept my dignity... :P

Post 15

yeah, well done

Post 16

this lan wasnt all that great, i think the greatest lan ive ever had so far was the SWAT4 lan because atleast then everyone played the same game

CSS was completely dead cuz everyone was playing old 1.6 (also because most of u hate it with a passion), BF2 wasnt even going ahead and neither was Unreal Tournament, everyone really needs to play the same game to have a fun lan, the only really fun game i got to play at the lan was DDR and then again, i coulda been up the whole night playing the game since nobody else was playing the same game, but seqo left with the projector

The lan was alright, but Quake 3 wasnt exactly my favorite game to play

Special thanks to Chycophy for bringing the DDR gear, it was an awesome game although i was too embarrased to play at first :D, i thought the game was boring at first but then when u first play it, it gets addictive hehehe :)

Post 17

the reason you dont like quake 3 is that you suck at it lol

Post 18

I had a good time at the lan for the short time I was there :) DDR was fun even though I sucked at it. I even jumped on Cs 1.6 for a bit before Phem just HS me over and over again and I got pissed off. Also there was some good warcraft 3 games. Getting absolutely flogged in that stupid footy frenzy then having to regain honour by playing a OMFG BUILDING game. Beaker was there to btw :)

But was my first lan in a long time and I had a good time was nice to see a lot of old faces and stuff I hadn't seen in a while!!

Who donated the cake and bread? I'd like to say thanks to him because that cake was delicious :)

And good work to the organisers. Was a friendly fun lan.

Post 19

Not enough people got up and had a go of DDR... No Chupachups challenge was played for it either :(. Dualith and I would have stepped aside for the chupachups challenge seeing as he would have won and its unfair on noobs.

DDR is fun once the original disdain you have for it subsides. Seqo and Woop will tell you that... The way I see it, you can stay fit and healthy whilst retaining your nerdiness and show off and impress people at the same time. Dignity is overrated anyways and it gets back after you get good.

Post 20

Good lan i enjoyed myself. Was there a members / entry prize draw ?

Post 21

Was a good LAN. Had some good FlatOut games. Who ever it was getting angry at the bloke not playing too well in CS, give him a break. He was only new at it. Any extra players in a server is a bonus, you don't want to scare people away!!

Post 22

quake any one??

this lan was ok thow i think the time table should have been either diplayed and implmented intesad of just random gaming.

quake 3 is fairly new to me, i rarely play it at all, the only fast FPS game i play is Unreal Tournament which im good at, im a Reality Based FPS player, not Fiction based

to me, Quake 3 is boring, i'd rather play CS 1.6 or that DDR game :)

That was made by our very own, Outofammo. It was delicious, it was a pity that a large portion of it went to waste :(

Post 25

i didnt have any cake cuz ammo said, "its no good anymore, it changed colour", i was gonna have a bit till he said that :( shoulda had some when u told me to seqo

Post 26

Well you could of ate some cake in the morning but wouldn't of tasted any good. Off cream isn't always the best thing.

Sorry Flam there wasn't any members draw this lan, a few complications that was out of ours hands.

DDR was fun, but im not about to go down to the arcade and spend my money to play :P

Post 27

...there was free cake at a DGA and im in NSW :(

Post 28

haha i love Penny ;)

I thought the LAN was pretty Sweet, cake was awsome but I had to "remove some cream" the next morning when i was starved at like 6am and im still alive :P

Also just a question for the Admins of DGA involved in the technical side of DGA, Was the move to a /23 subnet of DGA so Servers and Clients could sit in diffrent areas of the subnet? and do the Admin tables use static IPs or stick with DHCP ? im mainly asking for the issues that were with the DHCP server when someone else took over its IP....

Cheers
Rip

Post 29

The admins are DHCP as well.

Post 30

i believe its for when EVO comes, we can have the capability to give out ips for more then 254 people and servers if they turn up.

But... i may be wrong and so the best person to talk to would be the person who is looking after it, Neo.

Nope.

It's basically future proofing. We believe 254 computers on the network is a possible figure come this EVO, so the subnet change was implemented before hand to iron out any bugs that may have arisen. Virtually 100% of problems have been due to computers with Static IP's and their owners not having changed the subnet to 255.255.254.0

/23 is now DGAs standard subnet.

Post 32

we utilised around 250 i.p address's (although there weren't quite as many people) 2 evo's ago Rip.

So all things being well we should exceed 254 address's soon !

:)

Post 33

I'll have my say about the servers, would be good if they were sitting off UPS's so if there is a brownout you can safely turn them off.

One other thing that would be nice for troubleshooting sake a donated monitor and keyboard + if you want a 4 port KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse)

I'll even donate a monitor and keyboard for this reason.

In the event something happens i.e last DGA incident brownout and DHCP it would of been alot quicker to have all of this ready to use.

Last note for the day the previous DGA, not the last one (birthday) was one of the best DGA's I went to. Lots of Admins and players alike having fun and getting their groove on; fragging away.

Birthday DGA where were all the admins? Thanks to the ones that were there (Eater, Woop, NeoTheo + about 3 or 4 others ones I dont know their tags; apologies) it just didnt feel right.

I think it wasnt right because brain wasnt handign the ChubbaCups out; thats it lol :P

Cheers
