Would of been better if he didn't double trinket.
The guy is known as The Last Ovski (the gnome). He's pretty good, but relies on Engineering and his Double trinkets too much. There's a vid around of a troll mage in blues that is very impressive...
btw, just got my second of the double trinkets :D
Double trinkets am ghey seqo. :P
erm, the trinks are still considered gear :P
Doesnt matter how he gets his numbers, they are still nice :p
Thats like saying AWP's aren't lame in CS.
Apples and oranges, old boy, apples and oranges.
No, I agree.
Double Trinkets are a crutch... A mage shouldn't have to rely on them. Unfortunately, with the way itemisation for casters is at present its something that many casters are almost forced to take up in order to stand a chance, 1vs1, against other classes.
People say, "Oh, but no class should be able to two-shot another" when they refer to mages... but rogues can do it with Blue gear, hunters can too. Its WoW, everyone's got an opinion about balance.
Mages are getting the 1.11 review, so we'll see.
Polymorph.... ARCANE POWER, PRESENCE OF MIND, TRINKET, TRINKET, PYYYYYYYYYYRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOBLAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSST!

Nobody is meant to live longer than 15 seconds.
Unless you're a pally. BUBBLE HEARTH.
I insalled a custom UI last night.
Couldnt remove the icon button for my Hearth stone from the middle of my screen.
Felt like i was playing a paladin :p

CS is Lame to begin with.

If the other class let the mage poly, you might have a point. Poly is almost a useless spell now. Trinkets, interrupts.
And poly restores their hp. GG if you're vsing a warrior, still no chance against a priest or a druid (which can't be poly'd), probably kill a rogue though... there's always that satisfaction.
My highest crit with the double trinks is 2.4k. The player had CoE on him at the time. I imagine if he had been in zerker stance it would've been quite a bit more. And yet a hunter in our alliance can regularly aimed shot crit me for 2.3 and multishot crit me for 1.8k - without cooldowns. Like I said, everyone's got an opinion about balance.
learn2+damagegear
300 +dmg gear in PvE spec - in PvP I'm at 320ish. Once I get the mageblade each of those will go up by 50. I should be at 400 in the next month or two.
Then again, I'm frost... so no Pyro.
Dont get me started on hunters......
Oh NOES HE IS AIMED SHOTTING ME......
get to 5 yards, frost nova, step back 1 yard..... gg hunter... :(

Exactly - you also forget that you wear cloth and we are hitting you with our 3 second cast attack. So yeah, it's going to own you. Seems to me the problem is +Dmg gear not having enough Stam on it. Besides - a warrior, rogue, etc can all do the same...we do it from ranged cause we're a ranged class.
oh btw the 3rd and awesome ones are exactly the same other than 3rd is better quality.
Hrmm shouldnt be, unless my links got ****ed up :(
you ijidt.
New priest talents. Let's nodge those mage numbers up more shall we?

A mage isnt spose to let people get close to them thats why they have frost spells and blink >.<........ there made to run from close combat and also u have MANA SHILED and also if your frost spec u would have frost armor i think its called.
have you played a mage. Mana shiled and Ice barrier don't even last a single auto attack from well equiped warriors.
No offence my_plague... but Ice Armour gives us all of 500armour at level 60. Yep, that's like 1.5% decrease in physical damage...woo! (pst, you don't have to be frost specced for it either)
Mana shield at max level absorbs 570. Ice Barrier does a little over 950, iirc (i'm not 31frost any more :\). That's two hits, for something that'll drain ~1600mana.
Blink is bugged to hell and we run as fast as anyone else. Rogues sprint after us, don't blink until after an intercept on warriors either, hunters outrange us and have a pet - so you don't run away from them... go go hunter dead zone. Don't even bother against priests and warlocks unless you know that you can burst out damage quicker than they can either heal, or spell lock you.

That's why they whine about us Hunters. They run away and we unload on them...they are actually safer up close.
heh, sorry for resurrecting an old thread :)
any other mages looking forward to the new patch? the arcane tree has been gutted, but i don't intend on losing imp. counterspell and PoM, so i doubt my build is actually going to change much. 21/30/0 ftw. also, i'm not looking forward to the new 1.5 sec global cooldown on abilities after sitting down. i may never drink in a BG again :/

Elemental mage FTW :D best of both worlds :) no need for arcane realy :)
arcane is still best for instances, makes the mana last alot longer, not as needed as before tho i have to admit.
I'm going to be elementalist.
12/39 Fire/Frost.
I just couldn't justify arcane in 1.11.
Arcane won't be needed at all if you have about 6k mana unbuffed. Which is easy enough to obtain.
i got bored with my old build and specced 24/27 fire/frost, and whilst it's damn good fun, it's a hard build to play against other casters. it lacks the raw burst damage of an arcane/fire build (what i'm used to), and what burst it does have is highly situational. i keep reflexively hitting what was once my PoM hotkey whenever i get into a nasty situation, only to realise it's no longer there. :-D it does make for a mean flag carrier in wsg though :P.
My mage is going to go all out DPS. Decided that Ive nearly had enough of PVE shit even though Im gonna keep tanking every boss there is. But yeh my mage is gonna be 100% PVP. Need some help setting it up though... any ideas?
BTW What is it with Ice Block being break able! GRRRR
it's not breakable... at least, it wasn't in the patch notes, and i haven't had it break on me yet
