Hey doods.
What p2p programs does everyone here use?
I was looking at Imesh (for some tunes) and Limewire. But i heard Limewire is a pos. I then looked to Edonkey but it seems its gone to a pay-to-use service now?
I downloaded and installed BitComet last night, caus it looked pretty decent.
Got a few torrents coming in and semi-resonable speeds.
Just thought I'd ask around and see what people recommend as their best source of internet goodies :)
I still use Azureas and mininova.
Good results.

Same here, with Emule as a backup ;) both of my bt download boxes use the same setup and have been running flawless for the last two years. ;)

what eva u do dont use abc. incrediably simple prog 2 use but gives you next to none in config options. just changd to utorrent and downloads are through the roof.
...and another vote for utorrent here (and mininova, too).
BitLord is also very good, but I am also open to a better alternative.
For P2P I find Ares (http://www.aresgalaxy.org) fills the gaps and quite a good speed too.

Bitlord is just Bitcomet with ads.
Azureus is a resorce hog and runs on java...yucky

i've only ever truely used azureus.
tried utorrent & bitcomet, and neither download as fast as azureus.
true azureus is a resource hog, along with java, but i only ever surf the web or listen to music while using it, so it's not much of a hassle
I still use BT networks
But newsgroups FTW !!!
Ive been using utorrent and the peak ive seen the downloads hit is 3kbs for a few minutes, then shrinks back to under 1kbs :/
The items im downloading have several hundred seeds as well.
Anything i dont know about with these programs? At this rate it will take me 4weeks to download a file :p
I leave Azureas running 24/7 and never notice it sucking resources. I do all kinds of normal stuff like gaming and burning etc at the same time.
I'm not trying to brag here - I genuinely never have the problems other people have mentioned re: resource absorption.
any azureus issues with slowdown, resource hoggery etc are more than likely related to whatever particular version of the JVM you're running. as for torrent clients, i went from abc -> azureus -> utorrent. utorrent is something like 600kb opens before you've finished double clicking and is downloading before you've moved your mouse again afterwards.

i too do the same
for me it uses 70-90mb
but i love the speeds and im too lazy to change
if something isnt broke why fix it?
works for me so ill keep using it
Was using bitcomet for a long while and I was getting great speeds 800kb/sec on good torrents.
Moved to utorrent when I switched machines same speed but much its easier to use and is more configurable as well as being less resource hungry.
plus utorrent has the web interface for remote downloadery now (no idea if azureueusuusrrs can do that though)
I use Azureus at home and uTorrent at work. Both work fine, although Azureus used to get a bit of memory blow out and chug my PC to a standstill (Using up all 2gig of my RAM) but thats been fixed long ago.
Aegis and others I haven't tried the remote download option yet but there is a couple addons for Azeurus to do this.
