Yeah, they proved themselves to be the biggest bunch of wankers in MMO history.
Post 3
i understand how they turned up and ganked all those guys on the beach or whatever
but does somebody want to explain to me the reason why WoW has funerals, and people were lining up??!!

One of the guilds members had a car accident (or something equally tragic anyway) and lost their life. Their guild had an ingame memorial for them so people who they play with could pay their respects. This asshat guild came in and made a big joke out of it all by attacking them. Pretty piss poor show if you ask me.
Post 5
i was just going to ask that
Post 6
I've already had my opinion on this.... and personally i think both parties are idiots. *shrug*
Post 7
I think it must have been the death of one of their actual members in the guild or something and Serenity Now Pwned them all...
I have seen in the past when these incidents happen that people put price tags on peoples heads to gank them time and time and time again and FRAPS it. We had a person in our alliance who had this happen to them. She was continually ganked on her way to MC. The horde guilds fraps it and posted it on some site. I have still been unable to find it but they said it was fun ganking a certain female mage who thought she was top she but everytime her noob ass res'd she was hit by a rogue. VERY effective and much fun. My current ganking grounds in Stonetalon Mountains... Waiting for my mage to have a price tag with the amount of corpse camping I did last night!!

im sorry to sound heartless but having a funeral for someone via their WoW character is just dumb, ITS JUST A GAME
go to his real funeral or send a card or something....

Yeah seen this..
I couldn't help but laugh a little, it was rather hilarious seeing a bunch of wankers going on a pvp raid lol, and the video was very well made :P
Thing is though, it wasn't very well planned from the start I mean, unarmed in a contested lvl 55+ zone on a pvp server.. umm yeah that was just asking for trouble.
But at the same time yeah it was pretty heartless, as a little respect was in order..
Post 10
hahahahahahaa
how funny is that LOL
Post 11
And what if you live in Australia and your friend is in USA or Korea?
For those people the only way to say goodbye might be ingame, where they got to know the person in the first place.
Back in the day they used to do similar stuff in UO so its really not that new an idea.
Well except for the pimple popping retards crashing the event!
guess it just goes to show the class (or lack of) that this game attracts!
Post 12
Ultima Online FTW!!
Post 13
shrug, if they didnt want to get griefed (and they SHOULD have expected it), either hold it in a non contested zone, or DO IT AS GHOSTS.

LOL. that would be a laugh and a half. 50 od ghosts having a memorial service
Post 15
lmao they got punked.
Post 16
haha that video is awesome
Post 17
HAHAHA Thats awsome. Owned everything

Seriously, there's got to be something more than making an online funeral service... Things have gone weird but hey, its 2006, anything can happen. Like what the hell? I can order brides online now...
I don't know if I'm alone in this world but I think real sex is better than cyber sex, cold beer at hand is better than getting beer in the bar (much better if it's your favorite and for free).
My take on this? Those who lined up is fair game for takers. Classic example of a cheap shot but still, fair game. I don't know shit about MMO because I didn't jump the bandwagon of it during its inception but I reckon making online funerals is taking it a little too far.
Post 19
Its supposed to be a memorial so people in the guild and in game friends who are probably scattered all over the globe can pay their respects.
Post 20
It just wasnt very well planned out :P
Post 21
I would have organised it on a pve server, where it wouldnt be interrupted.
Or at least if they wanted to do it on their own server, to do it somewhere thats their own faction.
Shit, they're horde, nothing stopping them from doing it on the sunny shores south of Sen'jin village.
Post 22
its just funny full stop .. they got Ganked hard core.
well made movie, great watch loved it :D
Post 23
that was great. idiots taking games way too seriously.
Post 24
yeh pretty dam funmy!
also reminds me of ganking in UO
Post 25
I reckon holding an in game memorial is a pretty nice gesture, but I'm sure most of them know the average maturity of WoW players... holding it in a contested zone was just asking for trouble.
Post 26
hahahaha, omg, that was funny. good job to serenity, somethin I would have done given the chance. It's only a game ppl's, deal wit it :P

Its a game yes, but this wasnt about it being a game. It was about some cock wads making a mockery of someone elses death.
Post 28
hardly. pvp happened on a pvp server, news at eleven.
Post 29
but could they have done it on a non pvp server, i dont know much about wow, thats why i ask
Post 30
sure they could have. they could have done it on the same server in an area where they werent able to be attacked also. but they willingly put themselves in a position that left them open to that sort of griefing. they made their bed and got forced to lay in it.
Post 31
then its their own fault
Post 32
Quote from shifty:
then its their own fault
it would be their own fault if a group of player was randomly walking around and encoutered the funeral, and started PvP like people do in the game
This however, as I understand it, is different because this group already knew that this was an online funeral, found out where it was being held, knew there were people there that were paying their respects, and they purposely went there to cause some grief.
I think the group that did it are a bunch of idiots, however I also think the funeral should of been placed somewhere more appropriate location, or done with more foresight so that that couldn't of happened.
Post 33
Movie was interesting and well made. But i'm not congradulating Serenity Now, That was pretty cruel.
But the funeral holders really should've used a different location. And broadcasting the location probably wasn't the best idea as well.
Post 34
They were pretty stupid to hold it in a contested zone I agree. And had it just been "ZOMG a group of horde" PvP I could understand. But they knowingly set out to disrupt and make a joke of a memorial not for the sake of PvP but for the sake of making a joke of it.
Post 35
Its called Griefing and it happens every day.
The context in this situation was a bit more touchy, is all.
Their own fault.
I mean really, you cant play an MMO with 6 million people and expect them all to have the same morals and/or viewpoint as yourself.
It was bound to happen, i would have bet my left testicle on it :)

I completely agree but it still doesnt make it right.
