Game I: May 24, Sydney Game II: June 14, Brisbane Game III: July 5, Melbourne
Comming up soon gonna start up a workplace tipping.. Seems a bit unfair tho.. Cause who ever bets for Qld is just gonna loose there money.. :) and so it starts
I don't get how NT folk could go for NSW =/ I mean Phil Gould is by far the biggest tosser in rugby league. He is the most arrogant self-serving retard. And that f***ing Laurie Daley, get some safety lights for that nose mate you'll put someones eyes out.
Compare that to Queenslanders, you've got Alfie Langer probably the most awesomest league player that ever lived. Fatty who is just a funny bastard. Gordon Tallis and Carl Webb who are just plain hard mofos. Webcke the fat poo who never stops trying. What more could you want.
I think I have proven beyond all possible doubt that NSW smell, and if you support them you also smell. Thank you all for stopping by.

Your saying langer is better than Andrew Johns? Hahaha ok... Oh, and Mattew Hayden is a better batsman than Don Bradman too - cause like, Hayden is a queenslander...
Damnit got it before me OD I think he is an even greater man for turning down the last minute request to play, knowing he couldnt give it his all due to his ongoing back complaints. NSW will be going into this first game with a few newstarts and late minute inclusions, and it will be a tough game for all.
But of course NSW will win cause my parents go for QLD and i have to beat them in the tipping ;)

Imo yep. Johns was probably 2nd imo. Can't believe how rude it was for NSW to ask him to come back this year though, what complete disrespect for his decision to retire from SOO.
Oh and don bradman is completely overrated imo. The standard of cricket back then would have been sooooo much crappier than today so it would have been much easier to be a class above. Nowadays they all play at such high standards to set yourself apart from the pack is a serious feat.
edit: won't be too surprised if QLD don't get up in game 1 though. They always choke in Sydney.

please find me another player, from any sport, from any era, who has so completely outclassed anyone that came before, during or after his playing career?
man rolaldo when he is praticing and he can bounce the ball on his feet then hit the crossbar of the goals from 20 meters out the catch it again then repeat this about 3-4 times without letting the ball hit the ground. that's ****ing skillz.
Well.....I can type on a keyboard whilst drinking a Rum.....and smoking a cigarette...As well as watch a DVD whilst the kids are screaming and still act like a responsible adult without raising a sweat...throw in the occasional game and that is pure skill.........
And while i am at it NSW 32 Qld 28................

lets for the sake of argument, assume that it's actually real.
how the hell can you compare a staged advertisement, that probably has dozens of takes involved to the achievements of a man who performed at such a stratospheric level for a career that spanned twenty years?

Haha, way to miss the point, and not just you pala. I'm agreeing with you that he was was by far the best cricketer of all time, and probably one of the best sportsmen of all time due to the fact that he dominated his sport for so long. What I am saying is that back then it would have been far easier to dominate like he did. Lets say to be the standard that Don Bradman was you would have to be 3+ standard deviations from the average national cricket player's level of skill. Back then the population of skilled cricketers was a faction of what it is today, so the tails or the outliers were much more pronounced. Today, if you are a skilled (let's say regional or state level) cricketer there are hundreds of others, if not more, who are competing against you. The distribution of cricketer's skill levels would become flatter over time as the population grows. As populations tend to the very large they normalise. This means that to be an outlier is much much less probable because even though you might be extremely good - because even if you are the best there will be people who are only slightly worse than you due to the large population size.
Just a theory, may or may not be true. Perhaps if he was born 20 years ago and was identified as talent and trained to today's standards he'd still whoop ass. Guess we'll never know.
Heh, I should have realised in hind sight that comment wouldn't go down very well. But I wish you'd ask why, or debate rather than reach for the petty insults OD. You always seem to do that =/
edit: we should probably get back on topic, if anyone wants to tell me im an idiot (cause hey, maybe I am!) feel free, but PM or start another thread :)
FFS mate - I'm just ****ing around - how about you mellow out a bit and have fun - everything in life isnt a bloody "debate". Seems everyone else on this forum is allowed to have fun except me. I'm Mr ucking admin, and everything is taken seriously. Chill - you'll live longer.
Hey Dan, remember when we stuck Ciggy's up Terminators nostrils, after a night of heavy drinking?
That was serious man.........Seriously fuc.king funny :p
I still remember us having to hide in your study, so the wife didnt cotton onto the fact you had your buddies around all night/morning drinking piss :p
Totally off-topic, but this thread needed love. Hugs for everyone!
He pulled up from playing the ball with fist loaded, and got snotted for it ;) Was a good comeback by QLD (even if they had to resort to kicking a man while hes down) but in the end it was superior play and tactics, and not to mention a pearler of a field goal, that gave the better team the win.
yeah that kick was a low blow.. everyone saw it exept the ref!! and then we get done for a punch back.. good fight tho.. as coco said loved that part.. "what you gonna do" WHACK!!
