There's a whitelist which allows access to your common sites, such as google.
Unfortunately for a majority of the NTG, the whitelist does not contain any of the sites that google will return in its search results :P

I have RDP access off the WAN so nearly as good.

Post 14

Yeah, encountered that today as well....

theres more than one way to skin a cat though (I can get through to the nwn2 forum by going to my history) :D

Post 15

Wouldn't that just be pulling up Cached data? :|

Post 16

something i use a lot at work when i get filtered.. search for shit on google, and use the google cache.

Doesn't work for forums/realtime sites, but it works for damn near everything else.

but yeah, GU get's blocked on the ABC interwebs cos of a)game b)forum in the hostname as far as I can tell.

Nah, I was happily browsing the forum, even though it has 'forum' as part of the URL....

Post 18

If it IS DNS and not IP based, try this URL :

http://gu.infoaddict.net/f/

Post 19

fcken champion dan, posting from work now.

unfortunately have to use ie, won't let me login with firefox, says, thankyou for logging in harbinger, and then goes straight back to the front page, without actually logging me in.

-only works on ie... on one particular computer. **** sake.

Post 21

thats a bug, it actually logs you in, just click on a forum or anything else and it will update your login status. happens to me sometimes.

nope, tried that already.

Post 23

Ah - yes... the cookie is set to gamers-underground.com

Let me see if I can fix that.

EDIT: Nope. You could always edit the cookie and replace .gamers-underground.com with .infoaddict.net (manually it seems) - not sure mate.

Post 24

I might try copying my cookies file from home and editing that, all the cookies I can find here are .infoaddict already.

Apparently it's harder than I thought to get around those bastards.

Thanks for the effort though, I can read the forums now anyways.

Post 25

Are they blocking port 3389??

Perhaps you guys will have to set up your routers and RDP to home to browse your internets...... Hehehe maybe you could even game over RDP????? (but only if solitaire was your thing...)

Post 26

DirectX doesn't work too good with RDP (read: not at all). works through VNC tho.

Post 27

Post 29

i can write a CF script that sits on the our servers and reads in a url you type into it, updating the links in it so they will use the same procedure... pretty sure our servers are on the whitelist... =)
