I was never going to see Eragon at the cinema, regardless of how positive reviews might have been. Which they aren't mind you - 12% at Rotten Tomatoes, Casino Royale got 95%.
Comedy: Borat
Drama: Children of Men (The Queen in close second)
Action: Casino Royale
Overall favourite? I might just have to say Casino Royale.

Comedy - borat hands down!
Horror/Thriller/Action - either [ Texas chainsaw the beging, had an excellent storyline and ties in perfectly with the first one! and umm im not sure if it came out late 2005 or in 2006 not but See No Evil - yes wrestling is shit but Kane pulls this of his roll perfectly thanks to wrestling and the actuall story could be true so it gives that extra scaryness to the film.
Cartoon - Over the Hedge twas one of the only good cartoon movies released this year
