G'day Fellas,

I have a Pure bred Bengal cat to giveaway.
He's 3yrs young.
- Comes with papers
- Is desexed and has had all vet injections
- He is also micro chipped.

Original owners bought him for "000! I picked him up today - but my old cat isn't very friendly to him :-(

He looks awesome - very much like a leopard!

If you're giving him away because your old cat doesn't like him (assuming you mentioned that you only got him today). Give them time and don't let them contact each other directly yet.

Hiss and fighting is just their way of getting to know each other when it's still too early. Although still very natural, they will have a go at each other for the first month or so.

G'day Jay,
The folks are very nervous about the situation - our older cat is pretty fragile and is in a bit of a panic because of the Bengal being here. So folks have said Bengal's gotta go - so Bengal's gotta go.

If you cant give him away to someone up there let me know. I've got a big place and im sure my cat and he would sort it out eventually.

I can get him to Brisbane with my little brother who's flying back in Jan if that helps.

PM if you like :)

You're meant to isolate new cats away in a separate room for a week and only let the new cat smell the old cat under the door and vice versa. Also give them a towel each or bedding etc for either cat and switch it between them every day.

Our cats were the same, until we were told we were doing it the completely wrong way.

It's very natural as they do get territorial over their household and owners. Your old cat just needs time to adjust to the concept. More than likely they'll become best friends and as the older cat gets older the younger will help take care of the older one when he can't do it himself.

Don't even take the cat to the rspca, particularly at this time of year.

Post 7

I second that, for god sake stay away from RSPCA. Animals have around a 2 week life expectancy there at this time of the year.

Post 8

thats a very nice looking cat! if my GF didn't have 10 dogs i'd take it strait away!

Post 9

those cats are high mantaince tho, they will only drink running water, and the ones I have met wouldn't eat canned food, only chopped meat

G'day Fellas,
Rest assured - he will not be going to the pound.

Phoenix_inferno - I have a young family coming over tomorrow morning to meet him. If I have no luck, he is yours ;-) Hit me with a PM with your brothers departure date :-)

Brain-Dance - Seems just like a regular cat to me mate, ate both hard food and canned food and drank still water out of a bowl. The cats you have met must be spoiled brats :-)

Lloyd,

Np mate, keep me posted :)

Post 12

Sorry all. Cat has been taken.
The local bengal cat breeder came around and snapped him up. I guess he didn't want something that he's selling for over a grand being just given away by someone else.

Lloyd,

Unless its a leopard, or maybe a jaguar, yeah, a jaguar would be cool..

Post 21

Well technically this would be that cat, cuz they were purposely bred from an asian breed of leopard.... thus the look. I WANT ONE!! lol Although i could do with a Puma....
