for the most part it should - sucks you cant put business numbers up there - I'm sick to ****ing death of people trying to sell us toner cartridges

it excludes marketing research, charities and some others..and they are the ones that always call me :P

I've gotten a couple calls from places that say "oh we just have a quick survey for you, do you have broadband? do you want to change to our broadband?"

I love having a private number all I have to do is ask how they got my number and call telestra and never hear from them again.

are there actually any penalties in place to stop them from calling if you are on that register?
