I gagged when I read that. Oh isn't difference of opinion amusing. :)

Post 3

they think it should be writen "they were 2 awesome aussie bands"
Frogstomp was awesome!

Post 4

holy shit i agree with rec, someone go check for seas of blood.

I've always hated powderfinger, but silverchair is like michael jackson. They used to be good, but now they're just weird.

Post 5

this is unlikely, as the lead singer of silverchair has been to darwin - and hated it.

it is unlikely he will return, which is a good thing :)

Post 6

Lies he was in italy when he came here.

He probably hated it because they were absolutely terrible. I wanted to tear my ears off when they played it just to make it stop. Can't remember what they called themselves though

Post 8

he's been here at least twice, once as silverchair and once as whatever that homo group he formed with whatever that gay DJ is.

I remember knight complaining about his stupid glasses.

My thoughts exactly

Post 10

well i would definetley see them if under $80 a ticket

Lucky you, it's only $79.95... and your soul.

Post 12

Is it the music you all don't like or is it that they can't play live? (ie like the Herd. They sound as though they're out of timing and voices have cracked when they sing live). Personally I like silverchair's new music and powderfinger have always been good.

haha quote for truth :D

I actually like powderfinger though they have some great tracks.

Post 14

i do agree that silverchairs post 2000 albums have been not much to my liking but they will play alot of their older songs at the concert. and im yet to hear there new stuff.

and powerfinger are simply the best aussie band out there IMO

the band daniel jones (silverchair singer) had with i forget who it was maybe the savage garden 2nd man or paulmac even??? anywyas it was called the dissocciatives. i didnt mind their album to be honest.

I think you mixed up flame and retard.

Post 17

Yeah i'll be at home for that one. Listening to good music.

but yeah, when you go to a place and get pelted with water bottles you dont want to come back in a hurry.

Post 18

silverchair are about as remarkable as cold porridge.

however i would most definitely be up for seeing powderfinger. in the top 5 aussie bands, easily.

I think there was a reason for this... the crowd's bricks were confiscated at the gate upon entry.

Top 5 out of the few Australian acts you know, obviously. Care to name the other 4? :P

Post 20

according to Hitwise http://www.themusic.com.au/im_m/top20.php

1. The Wiggles
2. Missy Higgins
3. John Butler Trio
4. Powderfinger
5. Human Nature

:)

Silver chair is
6. SILVERCHAIR

I think we can see who the biggest buyer of music is.... 1.Wiggles ??

Post 21

rec must have rigged the voting/sales figures for human nature to make top five.

Post 22

I'd say that they're better than Powderfinger and Silverchair if I didn't run the risk of people taking that seriously. :P

Post 23

why pay $79 while you can listen to them for free in the car park :)

Post 24

Actually it was the top websites, not the top bands. looked fun anyways.

not top 5 in any sort of chart, i was meaning top 5 in my opinion.

along with the beautiful girls, spiderbait, wolfmother and infusion. in my humble opinion.

Post 26

Infusion are spectacular live, but their radio material is dumbed-down and generally top-40 trash.

Wolfmother have some choice tracks, but most of it is regurgitated shite.

I personally don't mind some of Eskimo Joe's stuff either.

Depends what radio station you listen to. Triple J ftw

Post 28

Triple J has a Top 40?

Post 29

Has a hottest 100

Post 30

I'm well aware of that, but I said Infusion's radio material sounded like Top 40 trash.

Post 31

Quote from rec;309244:

Sorry I was referring to this. Triple J don't dumb down anything. They play it the way it was created usually.

Post 32

My point is that Infusion create their radio material and dumb it down themselves to reach a larger audience, and it's very unlike what they do live.

Post 33

AC DC.. that is all

qft :)

Post 35

whists acdc was and still is good, there not playing in darwin, there playing in alice
powderfinger and silverchair are playing in darwin :D

Post 36

AC/DC was the only decent act to ever visit Darwin, funnily enough. :P

Post 37

that all comes down to ones opinion. dire straits have been here + a couple of others i found out the other day but cannot remember.

Post 38

Of course it's my opinion, I wouldn't be spouting it otherwise.

Post 39

Angels was awesome

I saw Cliff Richards at the Casino Lawns when I was younger.
I remembered it being good :P

Post 45

lenko wishes he had a walking talking living doll.

Post 46

what songs did both bands play people who went?
who is attending the darwin session on friday?

Post 47

i hardly recognised anything, was just there for moral support - silverchair played mostly new stuff, but at least 'freak' and 'anas song'. powderfinger played my happiness, plus a couple of others that i recognised but don't know.

Post 48

i want to hear the door by the chair, i want to hear waiting for the sun by the finger, i can only hope

Post 49

waiting for the sun was played

Post 50

im going, free ticket

Post 51
