They've also announced a Wolfenstein movie and ETQW's official release date (Oct 2).

Q3 was running via Shockwave/Flash years ago, but it was only 1 map and was a third party project. Ran beautifully, though. Would be cool being able to a jump into a full-blown Q3 death-match game via my browser though. ;)

I look forward to grabbing some of their titles through Steam too.

Their new game concept doesn't really grab me, however - I can't see them doing it well at all.

A new game was announced called rage that is using ID's new engine.

I heard they were going to have more world in conflict at the event, but haven't heard much on it(I am hooked after playing the beta and can't wait for the demo now!)

Hmm. Think I may have got a little info mixed up. Quake Zero will be free Quake 3 but there's also going to be a Quake Arena sequal on Tech 5. Nice.

Apparently Rage's install files will be compressed onto 2 dual-layer DVDs or a single Blu-ray disc. Uncompressed you're looking at over 20GB, with that in mind.

Guess that'll shut Mepm up about no need for HD-DVD/Blu-ray in games. :)

Xbox 360 for the lose.

rec u r pathetic, one month u r posting threads up criticising the ps3 and everything about the ps3, and being a complete 360 fanboi; then the ps3 comes out and u change your spots and suddenly start bagging out the 360 and being a total ps3 fanboi.

least i stick to my guns

and as for the dvd's - if they really wanted to they could manufacture a triple layer dvd - the technology is there; hell apparently they even have the capability to have the different layers as different formats (ie having dvd and hd-dvd on the same disc)

its just a matter of whether they could be **** assed to do it or not; just like wether they could be **** assed to make the game a decent size.

2 discs? and that matters because?

by the time this game comes out there could be a new console out for all u know.
hell we probly all be on organic protein dvd's or holographic memory or bio-neural gel packs who knows

"apparently" in 2010 holograms will eat your children. just cause someone wrote it doesn't make it true.

Nope all it shows is that if games are developed for an inferior gaming platform i.e. consoles. They cant be arsed recoding it properly to suit a computer.

Rage didn't look particually interesting :/, stupid name as well.

Post 12

What, stupider than "Quake" and "Doom"? :P

House-hold names now, and as lame as they are, they now have respect.

Hopefully they can do the same with Rage.

The Tech 5 exploration video is very interesting in how this might be a good game
