My acer burner just decided to die, Will not spin, will not read,
Drive is 4 months old,
Any suggestions, before i have to do the warranty square dance with strathfield in the morning.
AAAAAAHHHHHH this is the second burner from them that has died. Fuck, fuck ,fuck
Do you overclock you FSB? That can sometimes bugger you CD burners.
Wiseman if you got it from Strathfields in Darwin give them a call and explain your situation to them.
I have found that they are willing to listen and they may replace your faulty burner on the spot.
Call them, be polite and ask what they can do to help you out of the problem their burner has put you in.
Remember be polite and you never know what you will achieve.
My brothers Plextor buggered up so he took it back because it was still under warranty. They told him that the burners only had a certain amount of "wright life". He out-wrote his burner within the warranty and they said he was a CD-Burning freak (whore) lol.

last year i bought one and within 2 weeks it died and destroyed my hard drive (well, just erased the boot sector) go with another brand like sony or creative or something, they might be expencive but at least they work!
Liteon cd burners are great, the 24102B 24 speed burn drive only cost me "45, it came with Nero 5 and a booklet which i didnt read.
Apparently it goes around safedisk 2 as well :D
