I miss this place!

It has indeed be a while. So many good memories playing Classic Counter Strike. I see a few names still kicking around here from those days :icon_cool:

Dota 2

Quote from Lothar;407886: ...types of people on the Syd servers. More language like "mate, maate" and "Eyy brew". lol

Dota 2

Is it a lot like War3 Dota? Because I found HoN to be average. The items are all over the place in HoN.

Natural Selection 2

I remember the old one, was a lot of fun. NS2 looks great. I'll have to get it. Anyone playing this at lans?

Dota 2

I have been playing playing Dota before Frozen Throne came out! Love it. Have not tried Dota2 yet, isn't it still beta?

Darwin ISP???

Hey peeps, it's been almost 10 years in the making, but I'm now finally going to migrate north and set up camp in Darwin :D I'm interested in your input on what would be the best all-rounder ISP up there for ~$50 p/m in the Coconut Grove region. Not really looking for a fixed line, something fast/fast-ish with reaso…

So my graphics card died on me :S

I was complaining about ATi drivers 10 years ago, they still are broked?!? I'm interested in how do the high end Geforce cards fare in the Darwin heat?

East Melbourne Lan

Hampton Park is SE, not E. I wasn't even on the Melbourne list :( Martok is still kicking around, he mainly plays DoD these days.

Supreme Commander Crash

Quote from Longtom;343599: you run Supreme Commander on XP64. I have trouble starting it, how did you do? You can either patch the game to resolve issues, or Supreme Commander Forged Alliance seems to fix many issues that the original had. I would seriously recommend one of the following system setups with a 512Mb v…

Driver problem with HD3850

If its the Sapphire one, their website has the Cat 3.4 Drivers for HD 3850 AGP - Clicky Sapphire Powercolor has Cat 3.1 for HD 3850 AGP - Clicky Powercolor

Vista Shootout: Hotfixes Vs. SP1

Quote from paladin;345492: Then you call MS and get them to re-activate over the phone. Tell them you had a hardware component replaced under warranty and it de-activated your installation. Its stupid that you have to lie to them when you just want to change your mobo. No wounder so many people pirate Vista, just as…

Vista Shootout: Hotfixes Vs. SP1

Quote from Evil @ngel;345459: remember when everyone was saying how XP sucked and you would never ever pry 2k off their systems? Same shit different OS. One of my computers still runs 2K. Apparently some board person has installed Vista with the Win2k Explorer :) Vista SP1 is broked for USB writing ... Vista SP1 to …

Bored Aussies

DOTA rocks, so does X Hero Siege and Jurassic Park Survival :)

[History Channel] UFO's What You Didn't Know - UFOs In The Bible [History Channel] UFO Files - Black Box UFO Secrets I could wright a list a mile long, but these two are pretty interesting. Pretty much anything else with Aliens or UFOs and Conspiracies.

Analyse potential comp upgrade please

That program recommended a 360w PSU for my 2900XT! I know for a fact that it will not post with such a low PSU. You need something more like this... *edit* I know from benchmarks that the 2900XT 1GB (GDDR4) uses 16w less than the 2…

Analyse potential comp upgrade please

Agreed, I've been running XP-64 for ages and find its more stable than XP-32. Doesn't affect game compatibility either. I think its probably prudent to wait for the net gen vid cards to see what their like, you can always get a run out model on sale if the new ones aren't that much chop. I would say upgrading from a…

ZOMG! I Want One!!!!!!

Imagine when people come round to your place and ask, "what's that?" and you reply, "oh that's my R2 unit". :)

First HDD failure, ever.

Quote from Korny;345032: samsung = evil hard disks That's funny, Samsung is the only brand HDD that hasn't gone "clunk" on me. HDD's are just like every other computer parts, there's always a bad batch :/

Asus RMA dealings - Striker Extreme

I have had nothing but problems when it comes to Asus mobos, video cards are good though. I would recommend either a Gigabyte or Abit board if you want something decent.
