theyre playing BDO too apparently, only doing side shows in sydney and melb
Post 13
why would you change my title?
Post 14
GU Melbourne meet for the RATM concert, totally! :D
Make sure you're purchasing general admission!
Post 15
Changed because the real title doesn't need any help to stand out.
Oh, and just read the page properly...
"Additional Rage Against the Machine dates are scheduled for Auckland, Queensland, Adelaide and Perth – stay tuned to FasterLouder for the announcement."
So scrap the Melbourne concert - I'll see them in Adelaide now I live there. Can house a few darwinites too...
Post 16
**** yeah adelaide for the win...it's slow convincing me...but thats about 2 weeks after i get back from my singapore holidays...will i have money left? :P
Post 17
Ah, brilliant. RATM in Adelaide then! :D
Post 18
Adelaide $400 return :O
I suspect they will be at bdo for next year.. Because the two dates announced so far are within 2 days of the bdo dates for that area..
Post 19
Well tickets go on sale Tomrrow 8AM EST and still only 2 dates have been announced.. no way im missing them..
http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/artist/750164?tm_link=tm_music_h1
so do i buy my tickets to melbourne and have no chance of missing out or do i wait to see if they announce a date in adelaide.. There website only says Melbourne and Sydney..
Post 20
I'm holding out.
Post 21
That and I'm saving for a new TV and have no moula.
Post 22
Yeah realistically I can't afford Melbourne either. I'm heading to Melbourne for Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers and probably Iron Maiden, and then I have Paul Van Dyk to see later this year in Adelaide too.
I have faith that if they don't announce concerts in other states that they'll tour with the Big Day Out, which will make me happy enough.
Post 23
Alright found this on there website..
Quote:
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE return to Australia this January - still impassioned, still important, and determined once more to take the power back. Join the movement here. And a note to the RAGE faithful in all other corners of Australasia. Never fear! Additional RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE appearances in Auckland, Queensland, Adelaide and Perth are scheduled and will be announced shortly.
So im gonna wait :) Adelaide here i come..
One thing i noticed RATM website says the dates for the concert are
MELBOURNE _ Sunday 27 January _ FESTIVAL HALL
But the Ticketmaster website says
Rage Against The Machine
Festival Hall Melbourne, West Melbourne, VIC
Wed 30 Jan 2008, 08:00 PM
Hmm which date is right?
Post 24

Paul Van Dyke is coming to Darwin surprisingly...
Post 26
woohoo PvD!

Probably because he's suprisingly boring live. His Sydney gig was such a let down in the big scheme of things. I expected so much more from him... guess it was still good though.
Post 28
really? :/
i didn't think his music was ultra fantastic, Armin Van Buuren is a Hojillion times better, but i heard his show was the best ever?
Post 29
well just because he played one shit set in sydney you can't judge him as a bad live DJ. Doesn't he have residency in Ibiza
Scott Project has played 2 shit sets in Darwin but seems to go off elsewhere...
It's cause Darwin is the most awesome capitol nuff said.
Post 30
My opinion is based on my personal experience - that one set. How could I base it on anything else?
Judgement stands, until proven otherwise (it's not like I'm not giving him another chance).
Post 31
it's sad you say he is coming to Darwin cause he is shit though :(
*runs away crying*
Post 32
I hardly think you should take rec's word that he is shit, over him being the NUMBER ONE DJ IN THE WORLD :P
**** man i would be excited if some fag boy band came to darwin, not because i would go, but becuase someone famous actually came to darwin and went outside of the airport.
Post 33
He was #1 almost a decade ago. There have been many #1's since, Tiesto included. Regardless, #1 is just lazy marketing. Any major DJ could be #1 if they took a particular statistic and twisted it in their favour.
Most records sold last year, or most records sold ever, or biggest crowds at performances, or won some crappy award once etc. etc.
Post 34
Doesn't matter, him being number 1 still should have more sway than your one show :P
he was number one a couple of months ago, Tiesto is number 1 now and he is number 2 with Armin at number 3. And votes are tallied by the public who listen to their favourite DJ's. anyway, offtopic, and i agree he really isnt the best anyway.
Post 35
which armin is it... I'm pretty sure I saw him at two tribes last year in Brisbane now he was good. Van Helsen? or Burin?
Post 36
Buuren I'd say.
Post 37
back on topic please :)
Tickets for sydney and melbourne sold out in under 20 mins
Post 38
yea I ****ing hate scalpers
Post 39
scalpers cant win here.. all tickets require a name on them and id must be showen when gaining entry
As per ticketmaster.com.au website :)
Post 40
yes they can. the people who BUY from them, can't.

scalpers are the lowest scum on the earth.
Post 48
ebay and online ticket purchasing has made it easy to scalp :/ Apparently with BDO there is a two ticket purchase limit.
Post 49
i feel like making a ebay account and putting all my bids for 10,000 and ****ing them up..!! hate scalpers!!!
Post 50
oo and spero 2 tickets pp for sydney and 4 tickers pp for any other city

There's a group already doing that - sniping ticket auctions at the last minute with and then not paying. Great idea. :)
Post 52
As long as it doesn't give them time to relist it before the concert begins.
And yeah, scalpers are fking low.
They ought to force ticket sales to require ID on purchase and entry into the venue.
Of course, that would hurt 'gift' purchases for friends or family.
Post 53
i can understand if someone buys the ticket and then they cant go and sells it for what it cost them or a bit more.. but $500 for 2 tickets.. Thats $300 profit!!!
Post 54
If someone buys tickets and can't go, or buys tickets for someone else who can't, fine, sell them, if you make a profit - good on ya.
The thing I despise however, is people who will set out to buy tickets purely for the purpose of re-selling at extremely high prices. Scum.

Yeah the people out to make money is the thing that shits me.
Look at that ebay link. $6,000 for 2x Silver Tickets.
I don't even go to concerts and it pisses me off :p
Post 56
opportunism doesn't piss me off. if i missed out on a ticket perhaps, but to me the obvious solution is simply for the ticketing sites to sell tickets auction style instead.
Post 57
some concerts are already doing the ID requirement with tickets, and names printed directly on the ticket, so even if you buy it for someone else they have to produce ID that matches the name on the ticket.
Post 58
I thought they broke up ages ago and now with audioslave ...wth??
