totally agree. mind you though.. a soldier is just as good. stick a medic on rec and he just covers you by destroying anything that moves infront of you :p

Heavies are there to shoot people, they are a large slow moving hit box. Medics are meant to hide behind them. Heavies are too busy shooting and killing to worry about someone behind them they cant even see.
The medic should look after himself, hide around a corner/box/anything, or hug the butt of the heavy as he is a walking wall.
The killing power of the heavy makes the medic in tow the main target, if you are a medic know this, and play accordingly.

i think the defense maps ultimately come down to the skill of the attacking team. i don't think you can hold those maps as defence if the attacking team has decent teamwork and a couple of medics with a clue.

Standing OFF the cap point and shooting at the people on it DOES NOT STOP THE CAPTURE.
God i hate seeing 3-4 friendlies standing outside one of the dustbowl capture points, shooting in at 2 scouts in the middle of an epileptic fit.

i quite enjoy defending on gravelpit as a scout. not as much as a demoman, but they're still kinda useful, for harassing the blue team up at their exits

ps: defending scouts can be useful to prevent CP cap.. run round in circles inside the point to counter enemy scouts or two other enemy players, not to mention the disruption this can cause while the rest of your team can rain fire onto the point while the bad guys are occupied by you.

Just got a killer Snapshot just then... It doesnt actually show anyone I've killed... but im still damn proud of it...
There were 4 or so spies continually sapping my gear... though with 18 hours engineering experience, detecting all but the best spies is quite easy... and repairing/removing sappers without opening yourself for a backstab is a nice skill to have... "[I] Kaze" though, he is better than any "good" spy... the other day I couldnt do anything to keep me or my building safe...
