Nah I set them up to share my music/movies and vice versa...problem is their computer kept defaulting to my internet instead of theirs so when I got a new one, and their PC wasnt blocked, it started leeching my net :-/

thats pretty easy to fix wrath..
in your network connections folder, advanced, advanced settings, and put the wireless connection below their connection to the internet.

I had the exact same problem, when LuzTeTT moved in with me...he bought his Wii and Wireless router...and the next door neighbour had no idea how to use a computer, but we thought that in this world, some decent people might actually realise that they were connecting to the wrong wireless...you know i'd still like to believe some people have decency not to steal internet these days... but yeah.... they happened to connect to us once...then there internet defaulted to connect to ours, and we started noticing a new DHCP client then we checked up on the mac address, went next door and talked to the lady about it, she was really sorry and all...(Plus she was kinda cute) So...we just filtered the mac address and secured the wireless.... but yeah... that month we got shaped because they were downloading so much stuff... I guess now at least we know that it is a must to secure your wireless.

the correct fix is to use a transparent proxy to redirect all web traffic from unknown pcs to tubgirl or some crap

Is WEP encryption good enough or can people easily get through it?.

With the right tools (that are easy to come by), WEP can be broken in a matter of minutes.
WPA plus MAC address blocking is the way to go (as poonda has already said earlier).

i set my dhcp to set the default gateway to something bogus. Then setup the pcs in my house with reserved ip's/gw settings pointing to the correct Gateway.
Fixes issues i had with my neighbour, but allowed me to still obtain files from his badly secured pc.
