and this will be harder than i thought, i as leader need to spend my diplomacy points, turn them to alliance points, and with those alliance points i can accept people into the alliance. at the moment i can only do 2 more. but i should be getting more soon.

anyone in the alliance can add diplomacy points to the alliance, so once people join they can add extra dip points

probably around 8-12 hours or so. i started building it over night and it was done today.
you need a palace and 12k gold, 1200 building material and 40 citizens

each person costs me a diplomatic point, and no one else can transfer them, so it might take a while to invite everyone.
edit: doing the math, i should be ok, it doesnt take very much to upgrade.

you dont have enough cash to trade with. unfortunately your trade fleet doesnt take cash with it... it pays for the goods when you arrive.

Yes you need an embassy before you can join - that and the guy running the guild must have a spare diplomatic point to spend to get you in.

Well in my second town (Dust Bole) there is a sulphur mine but i cant make any people do it and i got 57 people doing nothing...

Are your people happy? Dunno if it matters tho. Are you sure you have spare people? Take them all of research and add them to a mine. A new colony takes 40-50 people maybe they can't be freed to do other stuff??
On another note helping hands kicks ass can overload up to 50% more people to a mine.
