Best idea is to change ISP to bigpond, so then you can be justified in blaming your ISP for the fault, and they can fail to give any kind of a shit about it.
I think your getting the wrong idea, I normally get a 40 ms ping, but somethings gone wrong and now i have a 100ms, nothing else has changed, im in the same house, so its down south's end. They've told me there is a problem and its going to be fixed.. but when it will be fixed is the million dollar question.
this happens all the time... check for the darwin ping thread somewhere in the tech chat forum. telstra dont see ping times as a problem so if seems that they lit it sit till other isp's like internode bitch at them to fix it.
Upon further investigation of this issue Telstra located and corrected the issue which last night. It would appear that the ping times for customers are back to normal.
