I hope to *insert higher power preference here* that he doesn't get killed but I can see it happening - or an attempt at least. It is deeply saddening, but it seems inevitable. It's a big, big country... there's bound to be some pretty serious prejudice boiling away there somewhere.

Being black has nothing to do with his ability to make the country better or stronger and as far as I can tell nobody has made that assumption so far except you. Obama was only nominee out there from the start making sense and now that its a two horse race the choice is even more straightforward. Colour has nothing to do with whos best for the job. Twice...it just goes to show how inward looking the voters are. The guy who promises not to rock the boat (but will rock other boats to pillage for the good of the US) nearly always wins. Candidates who look to the future or to world issues such as the economy or environment get caned come election day.
Personally I'm getting ready for another day of disappointment, where the world could truly change for the better only to have American voters stuff it up.
