So the server is finally ready to return to its rack in Sydney. OD is waiting to see if someone locally here in Adelaide can bring it with them sometime and install it. Nismospo took it out when it died but is not going to Sydney anytime soon so I propose a small cash drive to raise the amount of money needed to get OD's arse onto a plane.
$300 should cover it for a one day trip up and back.

getting the server back up and running should increase GU's traffic i think, and thus the value of the adverts - the site seemed to take a steep dive in posts after the server crash. would that be right OD?
No need to feel bad if you can't contribute guys - it's not expected by any means. We're simply trying to raise the funds to finally, finally have this sorted once and for all. Any assistance is appreciated, but don't feel obligated. It's a charity situation, not a requirement of any kind!

At first thought I'd say 2x TF2, 1x CSS, 1x COD4, 1X BF2 or BF2142?
We have twice the hardware resources now, remember (as the extra RAM/CPU has been added). That doesn't mean we can run twice as many servers, but we've definately got more room to breath.
it was only empty because a new game to play with came out (tf2) before that it was used quite often, and im sure it will be again now that tf2 hype is over.
Yerp, if there are going to be five gaming servers... my suggestion is:
1. TF2 (Goldrush only - lol) 2. TF2 (Rotation of maps) 3. COD4 (TDM) 4. COD4 (S&D) 5. CS:S (Please, PLEASE, for the sake of my soul include Tides in the rotation. PLEASE!!!)
...but obviously I'm highly biased toward the games I have installed...
Well dude fairs fair, you shouldn't be paying for external hosting for this forum while the server is down out of your own pocket (less the small amount we get from ads) and then have to go and pay to get the thing back to Sydney. If it wasn't for you and to a much lesser extent rec (lol) GU would not exist. I think its only fair that the GU community front up the cost as much as people can afford to.
We are about to finally get the server back up and running and I think its very bad form that people say one thing and do another.
