It has been out for yonks here in the UK - I very nearly bought one, but at the last moment decided to stick with what I had and wait for something else.
I'll probably get an iPhone when the 3.0 firmware hits.

I had a try of one a few weeks back, along with the Blackberry Storm, the HTC HD and a few others.
I really like my iPhone - with MMS and video recording installed - but the Xperia was very sexy to look at and touch. Ease of use was a bit lacking, but I did like the Office docs and viewing was great. It was much more office friendly than the iPhone, no doubt due to Windows Mobile platform.
The keypad sucked for my fingers though.
It had a hell of a lot of features packed in from a software POV.

My mate just got an Xperia on my recommendation and loves it. It's basically a better version of the HTC Touch Pro - higher resolution screen etc.
But the HTC Touch HD would probably still top it, depending on whether you feel the need for a physical qwerty keyboard or not.
The only issue with all of those devices is that Windows Mobile still feels a bit clunky - definitely doesn't have the same ease of use as Symbian/iPhone platforms.

I've heard the Xperia is slower than the HTC Touch Pro, and the keyboard sucks as well...
I'm a bit over my phone though... I'm actually really looking forward to Windows Mobile 6.5 so I can get rid of Touch Flow...

i have had a touch hd for ahwile now, and i love it :D
shitloads faster than my old diamond and the screen is awesome

Not tried SPB Moble Shell? Runs quick as, I just didn't like the interface.
