The West
Funnily enough I actually click a banner link on GU to find this game.
Join world 1... We can create towns with 300gp and at level 10 you can choose 1 of 4 trades. Its slow at times, but it is a web based game.

Ok, I should be level 10 by late today.
It's kinda fun for a free game.
yeh, i've just hit 10... are you in world 1?
yep, character name digim0rtal.
Its alright, but like you said gets ****en very slow doing jobs.
The West Stats and Tools
theres a job calculator there. pretty useful
ok my character name is Da J Bomb.
I'll prolly join a town once i've earnt the respec quest. which is prolly a week off. So maybe join a small town together?
well i just searched you, seems we are very near each other (at least in the same mini map square)
it seems ok so far..except i don't have enough points to do the fishing thing and I don't seem to find a way to get more points. Can you get more by doing some over again?
I would recommend using the calculator i posted above. Adding in your info into it and then searching for the jobs you can do that return the highest experience.
I've been working until my energy hits 0 then sleeping in the "0 rooms and repeating the process. During the process I have been completing the quests (also posted in the link above) to gain xp and some cash a tad faster.
Cheers for that.
Have you got a town yet?
Trying to source a pre established one so far as you get goods at 1/4 the cost. then ill stock up and leave so i dont get attacked.
I chose adventurer, so I can sleep for free in hotel rooms up to level 2 - that should save me a few dollars each day! I need a donkey now, but really need to be a member of a town so I can buy them at $250 instead of "000.
message 'Osceola'.
I've spent a whole day trying to get the damned ham for the hooker.
How many times do you have to tend the pigs until they give it up?
Damned swine.

we need an Out Of Context Quote Of The Day =)
made me raff out roud.
too slow to load, to slow to get into. blah. more mybrute imo.
won my first duel.
80 gold stolen... 1 dmg taken, 132 dmg dealt lol :)
nice.
I'm an adverturer, so hopefully I'll not be duelling too much.
Hey Jugs you still playing?
Yeah mate, still going.
I sent you an in game telegram a while ago.
I'm still level 8, trying to get the beans and repair some fences to move up to the next level.
Level 10 now. Name is Bandon. Currently joined some random town just so i have somewhere free to sleep.
Me and UnSCaRReD (digim0rtal) joined a town.
Message 'Osceola' and just tell him your one of our mates and he'll let you in :)
I'd do it before choosing a character class, only as you get +250% speed bonus before you choose one.
done.
Here's a hint - see if you can use the link psyave gave you to find out what things you need for future quests - then if you're looking for something to do to level up you can get some of the items in advance.
yeah that's what I've been doing for the last couple days. I'm level 9 about to get to ten, completed a heap of jobs already.
I joined Deadwood Gulch this morning.
Now that I have joined a town, should I choose a class?
You should really choose a class ASAP, as the benefits are better than being a greenhorn, with the exception of map speed.
Get you cash in the bank asap too, especially if you are planning on duelling a lot.
I'm a merc. W00t.
Doing some construction and chucked some cash in the town treasury also.
Just joined up, Herros, should i join a town? or do i have to wait till later.
wait until your about level 10 to 15. You'll want to complete some quests without been attacked. I also would recommend travelling to our town as a greenhorn before picking a character class, as greenhorns get the massive speed bonus.
However, joining a town does allow for the use of a hotel for free. So it can also be useful, but if you do make sure the town has a bank that can support your income.
So far, me (Da J Bomb), UnSCaRReD (digim0rtal), and Jugsv2 have joined Deadwood Gulch.
I looked at where you started and your not to far away from us at all.
yeah, i guess i'll get a few levels first, speed bonus sounds nice though :P
From what I have learned, it seems pointless doing jobs for 30 minutes.
Minimum I do them for is an hour, two hours yields the best results.
I don't think I've ever done a job for anything other than 2 hours, unless it was the 10 and 30 mintues for the tutorial quests.
yeah i figured that out quickly :P
half hour jobs yeild 0 xp, yay!
but how about the stupid quest where you have to reach level 2, and it gives you a hat as a reward you cant wear till level 3 lol.
yeah, some items you get for future use. But you will level up quickly following the scripted quests, level 10 won't take you long.
already level 6, starting to use all my energy quickly :(
having to sleep for 8 hours is gash
Join our town and use the 2nd hotel room for free. You can also bank all your money in the town to protect it. The bonus of been in a town also is that you get 1/4 the price of items.
yeah banking and sleeping for free rocks.
I just bought a donkey w00t!
Having a mongrel of a time getting the Turkey quest done, I just can't get the Turkey or Deer Tanning skill requirements sorted.
Anyone done these? If so how did you go about leveling up for them?
tanning deer i bought a
brown wooly hat
grey cotton shoes / or brown ragged shoes
red poncho
red bandanna
I already had some of the items... as for the turkey, it wasnt until i started speccing my guy for duels and pumping up his shooting that i could do it.
Use the import everything on weststats and then use the job calculator. it should tell you which items yourve got will help and then you can see which items you should purchase to help.
I took a fair while to be able to tan deer skin and hunt turkey compared to the other challenges of quests - I just did what I could until I had enough level to complete them - mostly with the help of items as psyave said rather than putting point in to skills not important to my class.
I need to chop wood now and I am a way from being able to do that.
ugh, im ages away from been able to do that as well... Once i got the reward of 3-4 days of extra energy i just went nuts dueling trying to find a few cash cows to rob :)
yeah ive looked at some of the quests to come, and because im putting most of my skills in construction, im behind on others, so turkey and branding cattle and cowboy are ages away :( but its ok, i think building should give me shitloads of XP :D already got 12 into it with the boots :)
I have a week of automation at the moment - it's very nice to be able to queue up 3 jobs and sleeping, then come back in 12 hours or so.
If you're being a builder, you'll be a big asset to the town, but I'm not sure what you really do once the buildings are all at level 10.
quit the game? :P
dunno seems a long way away, but i cant wait to get high enough level to start building :)
I duel, just respec your char to duel. remember only soldiers get dueling advantage, and it only in defence and with melee weapons. So the other 3 classes are fine to spec for dueling.
If your shoving AP in strength, go a melee dueler.
If your shoving AP in mobility, well, atleast your good at dodging and reflex against shooter... so just pick up shooting or melee.
If your shoving AP into dex, just spec for a ranged fighter.
If your shoving AP into charisma, just spec for either melee or ranged, as your tactics should be good if people choose to attack you and your appearance should be good if you choose to attack.
The answer to this may be blindingly obvious, but when you need to do something in the town and it tells you "you must visit your town to do this", how do you make your character just visit the town, apart from sleeping?
In each of the stores there is what looks like a sign in the upper left hand section of the window.
This will allow you to walk to the town.
cheers for that, I did see that sign and I saw it had Tombstone on it, I thought it was a link to walk to an allied town or something.
and in the town view you can click the sign post as well
Is that Lloydy guy honestly asking us to pray before a building is built? or is that a joke i don't get or something?
Supposedly the development team added a secret thing to the church... but no one knows what it does after praying...
people reckon theres a chance of better items, improved stats while working, improved stats while duelling... and ofcource a chance of nothing... i personally dont use it at all... but well llyody is a pretty good labourer.
I've tried praying before some quests, I didn't notice any difference.
Is anyone else getting a message "world not available" today?
there updating world 1 to include forts
oooo purdy
