Missing Partition?

Have a WD 1TB My Book, came home to discover it had re-appeared as a new drive in Windows (using 7). Pops up everytime I plug it with somethin like it needs to formatted and appears as RAW, cant access it but can see it as Local Disk... Using every partition manager/recovery programs I could find, I notice a pattern. Every program can clearly see the logical partition (b a s i c k) and list all its files, checked MBR and boot sectors, even repaired em, everything seems to be in check, but still cannot access it or see the partition in Windows. All these programs (Stellar, Active Part. Recov., TestDisk) say nothings wrong with the drive or volumes etc but still the problem persists. I could easily just recover the files to a new HDD but would rather just fix the existing partition cause recovery takes a long fkn time. Anyone had a similar problem and fixed it, any ideas even, starting to piss me off.

EDIT: Same thing on Vista and XP.

EDIT: Skimmed the first sentence, hrmm. You say it appears as a new drive, however, later you say it doesn't appear in Windows?

Meh gave up trying to fix the partition, just used Stellar Phoenix to recover all the shit I needed and reformatted, took all like 1.5 days to do so, but got there in the end. Just wished there was an easier way xD

Oh and Seqo assigned multiple drive letters. And yea it would show up as a new RAW drive in Windows, couldnt access it or even check its properties, yet partition recovery programs (@Active Partition Rec.) would cleary see the partition I was after as active and working. Either way it's fixed, was the looong way but still it's done.
