Just to let you all know it isn't just Telstra holding this up.
It is mainly the NBN as they don't know what the hell they are doing, and don't know what they want.
We all know that the infrastructure access is still being negotiated and needs to be approved by the shareholders.

RakeR is right, Darwin hasn't even gone out to tender yet... Registrations of interest to tender are still being submitted, we haven't even seen a tender document yet. I just took a call this arvo from NBN Co asking us to submit our interest, we did this days ago.

its a little late they should have done it earlier, nightcliff and rapid creek are pretty much done - they will have to open everything up again. not to mention other suburbs are already on underground power like tiwi etc and have been for years.

fibre is non conductive, you're allowed to put it in the pipe with the lectric. Same deal they're looking to make with telstra.

Depending on how long ago they ran the underground cable they most likely have conduit system laid so with the agreement it's just a matter of getting to the ducts and running cable through them

Well according to that map Casuarina includes all of Darwin.
I'm just hoping for our building in stuart park to get down.
As soon as that happens I will be dumping telstra for everything but mobile phones.

I'd doubt that they'd set any concrete dates for Darwin until the backhaul arrives, they heven't even announced a date for that.
I haven't heard about them securing a contractor to do Darwin yet, and they seem to announce useless minutiae like that

I know NextGen are working really hard on completion of this link – which is geographically and logistically a massive, massive effort, and kudos to them for taking it on.
It brings the first real competitive backhaul to the Territory, ever – and finally breaks a monopoly pricing nexus that has existed there since the dawn of the broadband era.
Sure, they're being paid appropriately to do it as part of the RBBP scheme, but it takes dedication far in excess of the sticker price of the contract to make something this big succeed.
I'm sure our NT customers will see real benefits from it. Along with the PoP being established by Internode in Darwin, this deployment will bring (dramatically) reduced inter-customer latency, hence higher performance; Access to the full version of FetchTV and other advanced services not possible with Telstra infrastructure, and of course these are delivered via our much higher value Easy Broadband and Easy Naked ADSL2+ services.
Please note, though, that while the backhaul completion will signal the activation of our DSLAM facilities in the NT, and obviously new customers will be connected to those facilities, the physical migration of current customers will take a while longer.
That is because Telstra do bulk migrations to our infrastructure on their own, somewhat less than instant, timeframes (their default forward notice is nominally 84 days, though we often get them to do somewhat better than that).
Do note however that keen existing customers can do an individual migration within 3-4 days via the paid (individual migration) SSM process, but otherwise it'll be a matter of waiting for the bulk migration fairies to get it all done for us (as for all DSLAM deployments).

According to the nbn rollout map Stuart Park commenced work in September last year but it's still not available. I'm in Wagaman and they started in May this year. Theres been some peeps digging out front and said it was nbn work. Some sort of ETA would be nice. I'm just worried it will become available but i'll be relying on websites to tell me if I can get it and who knows how quickly they update.

They'll door-knock or letter-drop as it begins to become available. Trust me, you won't be able to miss it when it is ready. There's a lot of backend stuff before they start bringing it up to the door.

It's what they did as the Brunswick trial was being rolled out. Don't know if they'll bother with it in Darwin.
