It's a Lego/sandbox/crafting/zombie game.
I've been meaning to check it out since march when VGcats pointed it out to me, but it seems to be picking up a lot of attention recently, and I have heaps of time off. I think i'll check it out
it's currently 10 euro for the alpha, which is about "4AU, apparently it will double when it goes beta. Ohnoes!

Using volume and weight calculations, I took the time to find out how much that would be in minecraftian TNT, the answer? roughly 15,000 blocks, arranged in a 25 by 25 by 25 cube. Once set off, the server died, all connected were DC'd in a flash of bright and incredible deadly internet light. Two hours later the server finished (by finished, we mean gave in and allowed enough resources to be used to let people log on), people emerged. Twenty minutes later the brick rendering finally finished. The result was devestating. Me and my little bro hang out on the OACU server quite a bit. It is heavily addictive - as far as I am aware however it does take quite a bit of resources to run ram wise.
Server crashed. I haven't actually set it up properly yet - was just dicking around yesterday and it all went off from there. I'll install the mods and setup backups etc tonight.
OD can you have a look at geting different builder rights? Also begin able to teleport to other players is a good idea so that I don't have to find my way to their epic stuff that has been built.

Been playing minecraft for a while on another server a friend of mine was hosting. Been spoiled by op rights, but keen to get in to a real server. My doods name is Lynch82.
Also is there some form of etiquette with regards to requesting items from ops?
Is it a complete no-no, or is it acceptable in the case of bugged items.
A good example is water. Say I want to build a water slide... I can't transport water sources in multiplayer due to a bug. But an op could grant me a pile of water by typing: /give Lynch82 8 64
Having op rights and just magicking everything in to existence ruins the fun of minecraft, but at the same time, some stuff is just plain broken and can only be achieved by an op magicking it up.

I'm chuffed with my house now, but getting water to flow over glass is a fricken pain in the dot. Nice to see the server restart doesnt re-init the water springs - all the screwing around i had to do to get proper coverage was remembered :D
It has a MOTD :p But like all MOTD, no one reads them. I only noticed it cause I had to login a few times yesterday, and saw a message about mumble (what ever that is).

So who do you have to bribe/kill to become an in game OP?
My qualifications are: I am awesome, I am sexy, and I have OCD. I also seem to be online (and requiring an OP) when no OPs are one >.<
I have no interest in exploiting OPs (the game is easy enough to exploit anyway), is just nice to be able to summon the things that can't be obtained due to bugs, like water, lava, wool, etc.
Not quite sure where it is in relation to spawn (as Lothar knows... I was quite lost...) but should show up on the map tommorow. (Or later today rather...)

One time when I was testing out the Bacon Generator and it wasnt quite setup right I got all the inner workings all gummed up with pigs. It wasnt pleasant for anyone.

Hrm yeah - I'm not sure when it does its maintenance and for how long but maybe it's that. Sitting here patiently tho - need my Minecraft fix after a 12hr graveyard! :)
On another note, I was thinking last night that we should try to do something on a truly massive scale. Something rudimentary in shape; so that it takes little co-ordination. Imagine every player working toward the same goal and ending up with something massive.
