They were very good, one gets banned by an admin, the rest leave, saying that they know OD and that the admin was gonna be in trouble.
I don't think they were cheating, I was on their team and they were shooting through doors/walls etc all the time even when people WEREN'T there, so they obviously are a good clan and know how to play.
Did the admin actually catch one cheating or just get pissed off.
I'd hate to see O4 go the same way as Internode, Chariot etc where you own too much and get banned, not that I have that problem, I barely own my clothes.
Admin didn't say why the ban was enforced and it sorta killed the server game-wise.
I don't think chariot has that problem anymore even if they did in the past. Since csg etc chariot admins have done very little banning of players and left it to the software. I banned a guy recently for speed hacking but that is an obvious cheat and nightcrawler was the other guy on the server who agreed to the screen cheat accusations.
Pretty much if a guy is playing well on chariot now the only problem you get is the constant queries as to wether they are hippyman or not. btw hippy is a gooooood player who pings chariot at about 10-20 which makes him even harder to kill average kill death of 5 or 6 to 1 as is aswell :P.

Chariot was just an example, it was real bad 6-12 months ago but I haven't played there for a long time and good to here that you guys have improved it.
Still though I was on intern00b when mentasm was banned for aimbotting and the msg came up on screen like csg "mentasm has been banned for aimbot" (or whatever) only to find out he was banned by the internode admin who just had his head go missing.
Best thing being is that admin had installed halflife hack to test his csg on internode came into chariot for a game and had forgotten he had it on and got banned straight away :) an eye for an eye???
we did manage to get mentasm unbanned though not sure if we did the same for him :P
I think I was on the server then. But not when they got kicked. There were a fair few Head shots. One could just say it was more than usual. They are obviously really good players and I don't like to call people cheats if I don't have proof.
I did make a demo of it but I went to play it back and it refuses to play. So I cannot see what was happening.
I make a demo of someone if I think that something is really unusual. So I am not saying that they were cheating, all I am saying is that I made a demo as there seemed to be a few more Headshots than usual.
I have been called a cheat before and it isn't a nice thing if you are totally innocent, so I am not calling anyone a cheat.
I know alot of the good players are that "good players" because they instinctively aim for the head (not body) and are accurate so therefore alot of headshots.
But they could also be no skill tossers. I wasn't on that night so will hold judgement :)

No thankyou I don't want to see any of your demo's. :) It was DIE-HARD that was getting alot of headshots, and I admit that I was getting pissed off with getting killed by headshot most times. :( I don't call people cheats because I play with 400+ ping and everyone looks like a cheat even if they aren't. :D

mmm sounds familiar but im not sure about all this. Could have been my work. I was on server 2 the other day using an alias. I use an alias because I want to monitor the gamers to ensure theyare abiding by the rules and not abusing other gamers or members of the Octa4 Community. If Im correct one of the players after his mate got banned said " Hey you cant kick him, this is our server" From memory I warned the player 3 times about his comments and derogortory remarks to other players on the server. I am a fairly hard person but Im fair. I found the comments unsatisfactory and the language and comments made I found offensive. I dont mind a joke and the occasional Diss.
I usually can tell when a player stirs his mate or visa versa. A laugh here and there is fine. Even I crack a few jokes and stir upp my bro Ebola.
These comments were a little personal and the attitiude and demeanor was aggresive and the language quite nasty.
I kicked a gamer for his language after asking him to cool it on three seperate occasions. He failed to do so. I did not ban this person only kick him.
If this is the incident you recall, then tuff titties. I will not accept this form of crap from any foul mouth gutter trash, trailer park bandit. I very very very rarely intervene as Im sure the other admins will agree, however when I do it is for a reason.
Next time, No more Mr. Nice Guy. Ill ban ya butt for life........

I just spent the last 45 minutes going through my notes in relation to this post and Im pleased and happy to say that this particular incident is not mine. I now know the name and clan of the player I kicked and hopefully he remembers me. I wont mention his Tag as I belive it will only aggravate his current condition. He hasnt yet complained prolly because he knows hes pulled a shitter. So with that I say this.....
The GOD players are inoccent and as I stated before I didnt recall the name Die Hard as being the perpetrator. So with this I step aside and remove myself from this issue.
Its not just internode or chariot its all servers that get people who get a god complex as server admins and ban people because they are good and if they were killed by someone they must be cheats then because of a cross banning policy you get banned on other servers as well. This is a situation that has happened to players who are not even the cream but are very good players and maybe on a roll but it is no excuse for abusing the power they are given in good faith. Another thing I find quite amusing and maybe a little worrying is that I also play under other names sometimes to check annonomously on the server but more so to just relax and not have ppl's expectations on how I should be playing ie: hey you have 3kills and 8deaths whats wrong with you man etc, I can be up and down in form depending on how mentally tired I am from being at work etc same as most ppl, but I have observed conversations on admin_chat mode discussing whether I am cheating or not and if I should be kicked so I would recomend a lot of caution before kicking someone and follow the rules of getting demo's to try and confirm if they genuinely are cheating and also dont forget the impact of having a great soundcard because you can pretty much tell where ppl are even easier now as jumping, dropping etc all makes noises and its harder to sneak up on ppl. We are all human and make mistakes but we are trying our best to keep our servers clean on all levels so a few mistakes will happen but if the right channels are followed most problems can be sorted out.
