Just in from IBM and the US Government.

IBM is pressuring and the US Government is seriously considering changing its entire operating system to an open source operating system. "LINUX" is the prefered system! (Of course!)

IBM says this will not only enhance the security of the US Govt. systems but will also be far cheaper!

Yeah there was a town/city "council" or something somewhere in the US that changed over to Linux.. there was an article that detailed how they went about it, how the users coped and how much money it saved, etc. The users loved it actually because they were able to do pretty much everything they were already doing in Windows. Actually talked about people personalizing their accounts, with desktop pics/themes, etc and stuff like that.. Using dumb terminals it saved them an absolute shitload of money in licensing fees :)
