Status of site changeover

Just an update.

The site changeover is taking a little longer than expected due to the fact that I have been moving house since Thurday and getting settled in. At least I am now not typing whilst sitting on the floor.

In with other commitments I have decided to at least release the site without the integration ASAP to get that done and people used to it, then I can work on the integration.

Just a little info on that. What I will be doing is hacking phpBB to including all the information that the current server rego site now contains. This will mean that you will only ever have one account with Gamers Underground. There will be a few syncronisation programs available for existing users.

Once that is done I will be finishing off a new server booking system that will use the data from your account to allow only registered users to book server (and NOT need any input from any admins). The person that books the server will have admin powers for the duration of the booking.

Finally Ill port over the contacts database, but it will just be an extension of the your existing forum profile. More on that later.

To sum it up once all is done things will be run a lot smoother (for server rego and server booking especially) and we should see less hassles.
