is it just me or are prices at gamedude very very low!?
I mean ridiculously low! Im talking literally up to half the rrp on some items.
Whats the story? Do they bulk buy from suppliers or something?

No, just shit service, shit quality parts, and very slow delivery, it aint meant for over the internet stuff, it's actually a shop (cant remember where) and they have people queing up down the street trying to buy stuff in person. Not recommended to buy over the internet from these guys, go in person cause otherwise you'll get dicked on!

For good internet service, I always go to CWS (www.cws.net.au).
I have never had any problems with them - no lost items, no long delays, and they're even computer literate when you speak to them on the phone (comparing this to Gamedude's "service").
And cheap prices too (even after you've added in freight, they're still usually cheaper than buying local up here).

Gamedude is often the biggest purchaser of wholesale stock each month.
If not number 1, he is always in the top 3. He has a huge turnaround, just sells " cunningham " style, low profit, large volume.
There was a guy here @ my work, ordered a GF2MX a year or so ago from gamedude.
When he got it, they sent the wrong one, they sent the model below what he ordered ( He wanted TV out, and they sent standard ).
He rang em to find out what happened, and they said they were out of stock of the ones he wanted so sent him the other one instead.
No credit of the price diff, no contacting him, just decided to do it.
It ended up they had him send it back @ his cost, and it took a few weeks and a lot of phonecalls beforte they coughed up a refund too.
I have read a lot of other horror stories with daling with them. Personally I wouldnt buy there. BUT that is just my opinion.
Also going in the store is just about impossible, the guys on OCAU say they regularly wait up to 2 hours in line for service.

GameDude do provide shabby service and slow delivery times. Although, if you get your parts within two weeks of ordering, it's what you wanted and it works perfectly (count on that), you just saved yourself a bundle.

Ive shoped at gamedude as well, took them a week to get back to me :evil:
Prices are pretty good but i shop from distributers around 20-35% cheaper then gamedude :lol: just a bit more effort.
Geforce Ti4600 $500 each only catch, u have to buy ten or more.

CWS has been good to me. Never had any problems, had a faulty Gigabyte mobo, sent it back a week after I received, they tested it no questions and couldn't figure out what was wrong so they sent a new one.

If you want those exceptionally low CASH ONLY type prices then I'd suggest you try http://www.netplus.com.au
I havent bought off them personally but have heard good things about them. Computerman is also another one of these dealers but havent heard much back about them http://www.computerman.com.au CWS are pretty competitive too and to top that accept credit card.
I've never ordered from Gamedude because I've never heard anything good about them except for their low pricing which quite often is available elsewhere. Personally I'm always willing to pay a little more for service.
Remember to check your local dudes like Frontline ITS or maybe talk to Earlwin @ Computer Info if you cant get out to Casuarina. (Ed's not shifty he just has a goofy smile) He looks after me when I need those cant be bothered to buy interstate hardware jobs.

www.auspcmarket.com.au aren't the cheapest but i've gotten good service from them, and they seem to have a pretty big range of stuff.
Also www.istore.com.au is also pretty good on prices.
We should have a page full of hardware dealers...with peoples ratings or experiences with them??? (just an idea)

i always recommend www.cws.net.au and www.cougar.com.au both have excellent service, cws is great for price, cougar has the much larger selection of products.
both are great and piss all over gamedude, i had constant problems just getting a stick of ram from them, took over three months...

they called me in 2 days aying they needed to order it in, which will take a couple of days.
I said it was fine.
I ordered it on COD, so it better get here soon or ill be ermm, angry

yeh if you want to get in contact with them be prepared to wait.. they don't answer emails same/next day and the phone canl be busy for ages, etc. of course the owner dorian says things are going to change.. some sort of master plan. we can only wait. you have to understand what it is though. if you want the better service then you have to pay for it. at some companies that might only be a few dollars at others it may be more again. if you need something in a hurry or you aren't prepared to wait then you're much better off spending an extra few $ and going somewhere else.

To buy wholesale, register at the tax office for an ABN, takes ~28 days.
Lets say u wanted a motherboard, ud go to their web sight and ask for a list of local (australian) distributers. Their more then happy to give this to you, register with as many distributers as you can get away with and buy what they have on special if u need it. Most orders are done on direct deposit plus u have to ask for the price. U can usually bargin them down a further 10% makeing an item on special 35% cheaper then game dude. Distributers are usually harder to deal with then game dude, but once ur set up its much easier and cheaper.
