OK, I need EVERYONE who plays on the register users only server (atm Gamers Underground - Octa4 CS #1) LISTEN UP!
I have made a major change in the way EVERYTHING works. After the changeover everything will be very simple but I need you to syncronise your account first.
A bit of background.
The way the old server registration system worked was that you went to the registration site ( http://www.gamers-underground.com/registration/ ), registered your WONID and Password and wait for an admin to enable you. Once you were enabled you followed the help screen to make an admin.cfg file (basically just a file that sends a "setinfo pw-octa4 mypassword" command automatically to the server upon startup).
The New system is a bit different in 2 ways.
1. You NO LONGER NEED an admin.cfg (or setinfo command) to be sent to the server. It will just check your WONID and if that WONID is enabled then bingo your in. You can still (if you believe you need added security or someone else has your wonid) use the old system and it will work fine - but for now there is no need!
2. The server registration site ( http://www.gamers-underground.com/registration/ ) will no longer be used. I have integrated it into the "Profile" section of your forum account.
Yes, this means that if you intend on playing on the servers you need a forum account - no big deal, takes 30 secs and if your here you might as well join in on the community discussions hey :)
NOW - what needs to be done by you if you ALREADY have a server rego account (most of you).
Go HERE -> http://www.gamers-underground.com/load.php?p=sync and enter your SERVER REGISTRATION details (WONID and Server rego password) then submit the form. It will automatically update your forum profile with your correct WONID, Password, status and access level.
Go to your profile and check to see if it worked. If all seems ok then bingo, your done - thats it. From now on you will never need to go back to the old rego site again.
For those that then want to take advantage of the ability NOT to use admin.cfg / setinfo commands, just delete your Game Server Password!
I will wait a day or two until most of you have synchronised before I change the server over to this new system. In the meantime, check it all out! You can also now view someones WONID by viewing their profile (and click on it to get their stats!) You can also check the LIVE status of the game servers by clicking on the "Servers" link (top banner, lefthand circle).
Please let me know if you encounter any problems. You DO need to be logged into the forums (with the autologin tickbox selected) for the syncronisation to work.
All in all it should be a smooth transition to the new system and them I can advance to the next stage (new server booking system).
